1990 2. Divisjon
The 1990 2. divisjon was a Norwegian second-tier football league season. This was the last season the second tier was named 2. divisjon. From the 1991 season and onwards, the name of the second level of the Norwegian football league system has been ''1. divisjon''. The league was contested by 24 teams, divided into two groups; A and B. The winners of group A and B were promoted to the 1991 Tippeligaen. The second placed teams met the 10th position finisher in the Tippeligaen in a qualification round where the winner was promoted to Tippeligaen. The bottom three teams inn both groups were relegated to the new 2. divisjon. Overview Summary Sogndal won group A with 48 points and Lyn won group B with 45 points. Both teams promoted to the 1991 Tippeligaen. The second-placed teams, Bryne and Eik met Lillestrøm in the promotion play-offs. Lillestrøm won the qualification and remained in the Tippeligaen. Sogndal Fotball is the association football department of Norwegian sports club Sogndal IL from Sogndal in Vestland. The club was founded in 1926. The men's team currently plays in 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club's home matches are played at the 5,622 capacity Fosshaugane Campus. Lillestrøm Sportsklubb is a Norwegian professional football club from the city of Lillestrøm, just outside of the capital Oslo. Lillestrøm SK is a Norwegian football club based in Lillestrøm, playing in Eliteserien. The club was founded in 1917, after the merger of two local football clubs. Sandefjord Ballklubb is a Norwegian football club from Sandefjord, currently playing in Norwegian Fourth Division, the fifth tier in the Norwegian football league system. FK Mjølner is a Norwegian football club from Narvik. It currently plays in the 3. divisjon, after having been relegated from the 2. divisjon in 2019. The club played at the top tier in 1972 and 1989. History It is named after Mjöllnir in Norse mythology. It was formed in 1932 when ''Støa Mjølner'' (until 1926: ''FK Steady 1919 Mjølner'') and ''King Mjølner'' (until 1921: ''FK Freidig 1918 Mjølner'') merged. The 1991 2. divisjon, the third highest association football league for men in Norway. 22 games were played in 6 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Odd, Bærum, Vard, Os, Stjørdals-Blink and Bodø/Glimt were promoted to the First Division. Number ten, eleven and twelve were relegated to the 3. divisjon. Kristiansund Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club from Kristiansund, Møre og Romsdal. The men's football team currently plays in the Fourth Division, the fifth tier of the Norwegian football league system. Idrottslaget Hødd is a multi-sports club from Ulsteinvik in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. Founded in 1919, it has sections for team handball, gymnastics and football. Sportsklubben Djerv 1919 is an association football club located in Haugesund, Norway, established in 1919. The first team plays in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of Norwegian football, after being promoted from the 4. divisjon in 2018. History The club was founded on 26 March 1919. The year 1919 was added to the club name to distinguish the club from SK Djerv from Bergen. Djerv 1919 reached the semi-finals of the 1986 Norwegian Cup where they lost 1-0 to Tromsø. The team played its only season in the top division in 1988. In 1993, it merged its elite teams with Haugar to create FK Haugesund, but kept on playing in the lower leagues.
