Swedish Football Division 2
Division 2 is the fourth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 84 Swedish football teams. Division 2 had status as the official second level from 1928 to 1986 but was replaced by Division 1 in 1987. It then had status as the official third level until 2005 but was replaced once again by the recreated Division 1 in 2006. Overview In the Division, there are 84 clubs which are divided in six groups of 14 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 26 games. Sandvikens IF is a Swedish football club located in Sandviken. The club, formed 6 June 1918, has played 21 seasons in the highest Swedish league, but is in the third highest Swedish league, Division 1. Sandvikens IF are affiliated to the Gestriklands Fotbollförbund. Falu BS
Falu Bandysällskap, ''Falu BS'', is a bandy club from Falun in Sweden. Falu BS was founded as ''Falu Bollsällskap'' on 10 December 1935, by merging Falu BK, Holmens IF, Falu SK and IFK Falun. All these clubs were playing bandy. In 1936 the new club Falu BS started in Swedish division II. The jersey was like the one Falu BK had used, copper brown with the text "FALUN" on the chest. The home games were played at Främbyviken or Kvarnbergsplan (later to be called Kopparvallen). In 1939/1940 the team reached Bandyallsvenskan, the highest league in Sweden. Falu BS was second overall, only Sandvikens AIK were better. From this season on the "classic" colours of the team were used, blue jerseys with yellow collars. The team did not last more than one season in the Bandyallsvenska this time, but got back later. Linköpings FF (locally known as ''LFF'') was the premier men's football team in Linköping, Sweden, playing in the Swedish second division. The club is a 1984 merger of BK Derby and IF Saab. And as both these clubs had a one-season spell each in Allsvenskan during the 1970s (Derby in 1977, Saab in 1973), the new club was initially hopeful for a promotion from their Division 3 position.
