The 12th Stinkers Bad Movie Awards were released by the Hastings Bad Cinema Society in 1990 to honour the worst films the film industry had to offer in 1989. As follows, there was only a Worst Picture category with provided commentary for each nominee, as well as a list of films that were also considered for the final list but ultimately failed to make the cut (26 films total). Stinkers Bad Movie Awards
The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards (formerly known as the ''Hastings Bad Cinema Society'') was a Los Angeles-based group of film buffs and film critics devoted to honoring the worst films of the year. The society was founded by Mike Lancaster and Ray Wright, two former ushers who met in the late 1970s at what is now the Pacific Hastings Theater in Pasadena, California (from which the society originally got its name). ''The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards'' have been featured in ''Entertainment Weekly'', ''USA Today'', ''Los Angeles Times'', and on the BBC, CNN, as well as in several newspapers and magazines. History Founding Lancaster and Wright offered the annual Stinkers Bad Movie Awards, which was a parody of the Academy Awards.
