1989 Rous Cup
The 1989 Rous Cup was the fifth and final staging of the Rous Cup international football competition, based around the England–Scotland football rivalry. As in the previous two years, a South American team was also invited to compete in a triangular tournament, with Chile being this year's entrant. World champions Argentina had been originally invited but declined, citing domestic fixture congestion. Their invitation had been disapproved of by the British government, given the cut relations between the two nations following the 1982 Falklands War. England won the competition for the second year running, and third time in its five years of existence. This marked the final time any England vs Scotland matches would be arranged by the countries until friendly played in August 2013. The original Wembley Stadium (; originally known as the Empire Stadium) was a stadium in Wembley, London, best known for hosting important football matches. It stood on the same site now occupied by its successor. Terry Butcher
Terry Ian Butcher (born 28 December 1958) is an English football manager and former player. He works as an academy coach for Ipswich Town. During his playing career as a defender, Butcher captained the England national team, winning 77 caps in a ten-year international career that featured three FIFA World Cups. Butcher also enjoyed success in his club career, particularly with Ipswich Town and Rangers. He has subsequently managed clubs in England, Scotland, Australia and Wales and also had a brief spell in charge of the Philippines national team. Desmond Sinclair Walker (born 26 November 1965) is an English football coach and former player, who played as a defender. At club level he played in seven cup finals for Nottingham Forest at Wembley, winning five of them. He was Forest's player of the year three times. On four straight occasions at Forest he was selected for the PFA Team of the Year. At Sheffield Wednesday he picked up another club player of the year accolade. He played in twenty seasons of senior football. All but the last three of those were in the top flight in either England or Italy. Neil Webb
Neil John Webb (born 30 July 1963) is an English football manager, former footballer and television pundit. He primarily played as a midfielder but also played as a defender between 1980 and 1997, notably in the top flight for Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, with the latter seeing him play in the Premier League. He also played in the Football League with Portsmouth, Reading, Swindon Town and Grimsby Town as well as in Hong Kong for Instant-Dict and in non-league for Aldershot Town and Merthyr Tydfil.
