The 1988 Danish 1st Division season was the 43rd season of the Danish 1st Division league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. The Danish champions qualified for the European Cup 1989-90 qualification, while the second placed team qualified for the qualification round of the UEFA Cup 1989-90. The two lowest placed teams of the tournament was directly relegated to the Danish 2nd Division. Likewise, the Danish 2nd Division champions and runners-up were promoted to the 1st Division. Bent Christensen Arensøe, formerly known as Bent René Christensen, (born 4 January 1967) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a striker. During his active career he earned the nickname "Turbo" for his velocity. He played in a string of clubs, most notably Danish club Brøndby IF, where he scored a combined 116 goals in 208 games and won five Danish championships. He played 26 games and scored eight goals for the Denmark national football team, and was a part of the Danish 1992 European Championship winning side. Brønshøj BK
Brønshøj, part of the municipality of Copenhagen, forms, together with Husum, the administrative city district (''bydel'') of Brønshøj-Husum, in Denmark. History The first mention of the village Brønshøj (Brunshoga), is in a letter dated October 21, 1186 from Pope Urban III to Archbishop Absalon. Brønshøj Church dates from approximately the same time. In 1658-1660, during The Northern Wars, the village and its immediate surroundings were transformed into a military fortress and town, named Carlstad by the Swedish Army under the command of King Karl X Gustav. This town supported the Swedish siege of Copenhagen. The population reached c. 30,000, which was the same as that of Copenhagen itself.
