1987–88 FC Basel Season
The Fussball Club Basel 1893 1987–88 season was their 94th season since the club's foundation. It was their 42nd consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football (Nationalliga A) since they achieved promotion in the 1945–46 season. Fussball Club Basel 1893, widely known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Uwe Dittus
Uwe Dittus (born 3 August 1959) is a German former footballer who played as a midfielder throughout the 1980s. Career Dittus played his youth football by amateur club 1. FC 08 Birkenfeld. He started playing professionally in 1979 with Karlsruher SC under head-coach Manfred Krafft in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football. It was very difficult for Dittus here to start with, because at first he was simply not strong enough to keep up with the older experienced players. Gordon Smith (footballer, Born December 1954)
Gordon Duffield Smith (born 29 December 1954) is a Scottish football player, coach and executive. Smith played for several clubs, including Kilmarnock, Rangers, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City. After retiring as a player, he worked as a football agent and BBC football pundit before being appointed chief executive of the Scottish Football Association in 2007, a post he held until his resignation on 19 April 2010. Smith then worked as the director of football of Rangers during the 2011–12 season. Smith was also responsible for the introduction of an agreement between the Home Nations' football associations which allowed players educated in a home nation for five years before the age of eighteen to represent that nation at international level. Luiz Gonçalo
Luiz Gonçalo (born 5 June 1960) is a Brazilian retired footballer who played in the 1980s as a forward. Gonçalo first played for FC Wettingen. He joined FC Basel's first team for their 1986–87 season under head-coach Helmut Benthaus. Gonçalo played his domestic league debut for his new club in the home game at the St. Jakob Stadium on 8 October 1986 as Basel were defeated 0–3 by Grasshopper Club. Gonçalo scored his first goal for his club on 18 October in the Swiss Cup in the home game against Fribourg. In fact he scored two goals, the last two goals in the game as Basel won 3–1. FC Baden
FC Baden is a Swiss football club based in Baden, Canton Aargau, which is a short distance from Zürich. It was founded in 1897. FC Baden has a total of 22 different teams at age levels, including five women's teams. They play in the Swiss Promotion League, the third tier of Swiss football. Ernst "Erni" Maissen (born 1 January 1958) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a midfielder or striker during the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. André Ladner
André Ladner (born 20 May 1962) is a Swiss former professional and international footballer who played during the 1980s and early 1990s as defender. Club career Ladner played his youth football with Grasshopper Club and advanced to their first team during the 1980–81 Nationalliga A season. He played for the Grasshoppers for five seasons. The first season they were runners-up in the league and during the following seasons they were champions three times in a row.
