1987 Copa América
The 1987 Copa América was the 33rd edition of the Copa América, CONMEBOL's national team competition. It was the first Copa América under the new rotational hosting system. Argentina, as the first country alphabetically, hosted the tournament between 27 June and 12 July. Uruguay successfully defended their title, winning a record 13th Copa América. Sergio Javier Goycochea (; born 17 October 1963) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is best known for helping his country reach the 1990 FIFA World Cup Final with his penalty kick saves. Club career Goycochea played a few months in the French second division in 1991 for Stade Brestois 29, then named ''Brest Armorique'', a team which included players such as David Ginola, Corentin Martins and Stéphane Guivarc'h. Nonetheless, the team went bankrupt in November of that year, and was moved to the third division and lost its professional-team status. Pedro Pasculli
Pedro Pablo Pasculli (born 17 May 1960) is an Argentine former footballer who played as a forward and is currently technical secretary at Bangor City in the Cymru North. He spent most of his career with Argentinos Juniors and Italian club Lecce. At international level, he won the 1986 FIFA World Cup with Argentina, and came fourth at the 1987 Copa América. Pasculli's management career was mostly spent in the lower leagues of Italian football. He also had a few months in charge of Uganda in 2003, two brief spells at Dinamo Tirana in Albania and a season with Bangor City in Wales. Julio Jorge Olarticoechea (born 18 October 1958) is an Argentine former footballer who played as a defender. At international level, he represented Argentina at the 1986 and the 1990 World Cups, winning the former edition of the tournament. Luis Alberto Islas Ranieri (born 22 December 1965 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Peruvian club Ayacucho. A goalkeeper who won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986, Islas played for the Argentina national team, Independiente, Estudiantes de La Plata and León. Playing career Club Islas started his career as a goalkeeper in Chacarita Juniors in the early 1980s. He earned his nickname ''el loco'' ("crazy") because of his flair and temperament. Ricardo Giusti
Ricardo Omar Giusti (born 11 December 1956) is an Argentine former footballer. A midfielder, he played most of his career with Argentine side Independiente. At international level, he won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and was also a member of the runner-up national squad in the 1990 edition of the tournament. With 53 caps between 1983 and 1990, Giusti is currently 38th in the appearance records for the Argentina national football team. He played a part in five major tournaments for his nation. Oscar Garré
Oscar Alfredo Garré (born 9 December 1956) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a defender for Ferro Carril Oeste and the Argentine national team. Career Garré played most of his career (1974–88 and 1989–94) as a defender for Ferro Carril Oeste, and was part of the team that won the Nacional championships of 1982 and 1984. Their 1982 campaign saw Ferro finish the league without losing a single game. Garré was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1986 World Cup. In 1994, he went to Israel, where he played for Hapoel Kfar Saba and Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the local football league. He retired in 1996, aged almost 40. Darío Andrés Siviski (born 20 December 1962 in Avellaneda) is a former Argentine football midfielder who played for a number of clubs in Argentina, Mexico, Switzerland and Japan. He represented Argentina at the 1988 Olympic games and played for the full Argentina national team at Copa América 1987.
