Meath Intermediate Football Championship
Meath Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association second-tier competition between Gaelic football clubs organised by Meath GAA. The winning club is promoted to the Meath Senior Football Championship. In the 2021 final, Trim defeated Oldcastle. Each year, the final takes place in Pairc Tailteann, Navan. The winning club competes in the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. The current (2021) champions are Trim. The 1984 Meath Senior Football Championship is the 92nd edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 15 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Walterstown were the defending champions for the second year in a row after they defeated Navan O'Mahonys in the previous years final, and they successfully defended their title (to claim the "3-in-a-row") when beating Skryne 2–9 to 1–7 in the final in Pairc Tailteann on 30 September 1984. This was their 5th S.F.C. success. Gerry Cooney raised the Keegan Cup for Walterstown while Martin Barry claimed the 'Man of the Match' award. Wolfe Tones GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club which comprises an amalgamation of the parishes of Oristown and Kilberry which are situated roughly halfway between the town of Navan and the town of Kells, in County Meath, Ireland. Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. Walterstown were the defending champions once again after they defeated Skryne in the previous years final to claim the "3-in-a-Row", but Skryne claimed their revenge when ending the Black's winning streak at the semi-final stage. Slane returned to the senior grade after claiming the 1984 Meath Intermediate Football Championship title. Navan O'Mahonys claimed their 11th S.F.C. title when defeating Skryne 0–10 to 0–7 in the final on 29 September 1985. Gaeil Colmcille CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Kells, County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club currently plays at senior level in the Meath Senior Football Championship and play their home games at Grangegodden and Pairc Colmcille. History The club was founded in 1964 and had almost immediate success, reaching the Meath Senior Football final in 1964 but lost by 2 points to Kilbride GFC 0-08 to 0-06. In 1966 the club won the Meath Senior Football Championship for the first time beating Kilbride 0-08 to 0-06 after the teams couldn't be separated after two previous games. They won their second title in 1968 beating Walterstown in the final 3-17 to 1-04.
