1985 LPGA Tour
The 1985 LPGA Tour was the 36th season since the LPGA Tour officially began in 1950. The season ran from January 24 to November 10. The season consisted of 35 official money events. Nancy Lopez won the most tournaments, five. She also led the money list with earnings of $416,472. There were five first-time winners in 1985: Kathy Baker, Judy Clark, Penny Hammel, Val Skinner, and Muffin Spencer-Devlin. Nancy Lopez
Nancy Marie Lopez (born January 6, 1957) is an American former professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won 48 LPGA Tour events, including three major championships. Amateur career Lopez won the New Mexico Women's Amateur at age 12 in 1969, and the U.S. Girls' Junior in 1972 and 1974, at ages 15 and 17, respectively. Shortly after graduation from Goddard High School in Roswell, she played in the U.S. Women's Open as an amateur, first in 1974 and again in 1975 where she tied for second. As a collegiate freshman in 1976, Lopez was named All-American and Female Athlete of the Year for her play at the University of Tulsa. That year she won the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) national intercollegiate golf championship and was a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup and World Amateur teams. Jane Blalock
Barbara Jane Blalock (born September 19, 1945) is an American business executive and retired professional golfer. After winning several New England golf tournaments in her youth, Blalock joined the LPGA Tour as a professional in 1969, being named LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 1969 and Most Improved Golfer in 1970 and 1971. Bonnie Lauer
Bonnie Lauer (born February 20, 1951) is an American professional golfer, currently retired from the LPGA Tour. Lauer graduated cum laude in 1973 from Michigan State University, where she won the national individual intercollegiate golf championship that same year. Lauer turned professional in 1975. In 1976, she won the LPGA Rookie of the Year award. Lauer had individual victories in both 1977 and 1985.
