Hot Eyes
Hot Eyes was the name adopted for international acts by the Danish singing duo known in their home country as Kirsten and Søren. It was formed by Kirsten Siggaard Andersen (born 7 September 1954 in Slagelse) and Søren Bundgaard Nielsen (born 4 March 1956 in Glostrup). Biography Kirsten was brought up in a traditional Christian family who sang in a church choir when she was young and later pursued a career deemed appropriate and desirable, working in a bank, where she met her husband, Jorgen. Søren was a musician, singer and composer, at that time a member of the Danish band Sir Henry. Both Sir Henry and Kirsten entered the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, which serves as the Danish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), in 1983. For some reason, Sir Henry's entry, "Og Livet går" with music composed by Søren and Leif Pedersen was disqualified and Kirsten took their place in the final, but in a somewhat consolation-prize style they sang as backing vocals for Kirsten. Eurovision Song Contest 1985
The Eurovision Song Contest 1985 was the 30th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley" by Herreys. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at the Scandinavium on the 4th of May 1985 and was hosted by previous Swedish contestant Lill Lindfors. Nineteen countries took part in the contest, with the and deciding not to participate. The winner was with the song "La det swinge" by Bobbysocks!. This was Norway's first victory in the contest, after a long period of low scores, including 3 "nul points". Location Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden and the fifth-largest in the Nordic countries. Sku' Du Spørg' Fra No'en?
Denmark was represented by Hot Eyes (the name chosen for use at Eurovision by Kirsten & Søren), with the song "Sku' du spørg' fra no'en?", at the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 4 May in Gothenburg, Sweden. "Sku' du spørg' fra no'en?" was chosen as the Danish entry at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on 9 March. This was the second consecutive Eurovision appearance for Kirsten & Søren. Before Eurovision Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1985 The DMGP was held at the DR TV studios in Copenhagen, hosted by Jørgen Mylius. Ten songs took part with the winner being decided by voting from five regional juries. Other participants included DMGP institution Tommy Seebach, 1983 Danish representative Gry Johansen, and Lise Haavik (Trax) who would represent Denmark in 1986.
