Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle
Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle (born 25 August 1954) is a former France, French professional road bicycle racing, road racing cyclist who was a specialist at one-day Classic cycle races, classic cycling races. He raced from 1977 to 1995, one of the best French riders of a generation that included Bernard Hinault and Laurent Fignon. Born in Lembeye, Duclos-Lassalle was a specialist of Paris–Roubaix, but it took "Duclos", as the public called him, a long time to win. After finishing second to Francesco Moser in 1980 and Hennie Kuiper in 83, he won in 1992, finishing on Roubaix Velodrome 20 seconds ahead the German Olaf Ludwig. Duclos-Lassalle was 37 years old. But the next year he won again, beating the Italian Franco Ballerini on the line. Ballerini, who thought he won, lifted his arms in triumph after the line but had been beaten by Duclos-Lassalle in a very close finish. Bretagne Classic
The Bretagne Classic, also called Bretagne Classic Ouest–France, is an elite cycling classic held annually in late summer around the Breton village of Plouay in western France. The race was originally named Grand–Prix de Plouay and, from 1989 to 2015, GP Ouest–France. It was included in the inaugural UCI ProTour in 2005 and in 2011 in its successor, the UCI World Tour. Since 2016 it is called Bretagne Classic Ouest–France. Since 2002, a women's event, the GP Plouay–Bretagne is organized on Saturday, the day before the men's race. Thierry Marie (born 25 June 1963) is a French former cyclist. Marie often performed well in prologue stages: he won the Tour de France prologue three times in his career, and because of that he wore the yellow jersey in those three years, for seven days in total. He also competed in the team time trial event at the 1984 Summer Olympics. On stage six of the 1991 Tour de France Marie rode alone for six hours and 234 km to win the stage and set the record for the longest post-war successful breakaway. Skil (cycling Team)
Skil-Sem was a French professional cycling team which competed during both the 1984 and 1985 seasons. It was the continuation of the Sem-France Loire team. Skil-Sem was the team with which the team's leader, Sean Kelly, dominated the sport in 1984. Another team member, the French rider Éric Caritoux, also won the Vuelta a España in 1984. The team was directed by Jean de Gribaldy. History In 1984, Skil, a manufacturer of small power tools, became main sponsor of the Sem-France Loire team, directed by Jean de Gribaldy. As a member of Sem-France Loire, Kelly had twice won Paris–Nice and had won the points classification in the Tour de France two times. Kelly also won the Giro di Lombardia for the team in 1983.
