The 1984 Holiday Bowl was one of the games that determined the College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national championship in college football for the 1984 NCAA Division I-A football season, 1984 season. The 1984 Toledo Rockets football team was an American football team that represented the University of Toledo in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) during the 1984 NCAA Division I-A football season. Background The Rebels rebounded from a 7–4 year in 1983 to win the Pacific Coast Athletic Association title with a perfect conference record, with their only losses being to Hawaii and SMU. The 1984 Air Force Falcons football team represented the United States Air Force Academy in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 1984 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by first-year head coach Fisher DeBerry, Air Force played its home games at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs and finished the regular season at 7–4 (4–3 in WAC, third).
