The PBA on Vintage Sports was a branding used for presentation of Philippine Basketball Association games produced by Vintage Sports, a sports-oriented media company and was aired on Philippine television networks City2 Television from 1982 to 1984, Maharlika Broadcasting System (later renamed as People's Television Network) from 1985 to 1995, and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation from 1996 to 1999. History In 1982, the PBA awarded the broadcast rights of its games to Vintage Enterprises, Inc., a company owned by Carlos "Bobong" Velez and signed a P5.4 million deal with the league. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Nicknamed as "the Big Dome", it is one of the largest indoor arenas in Asia, and it is also one of the largest clear span domes in the world. Arthur Edward "Chip" Engelland III (born May 9, 1961) is an American basketball coach and former professional player. He is currently an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Alfie Almario (April 12, 1963 – October 3, 2001) was a Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. Career Almario played collegiate basketball at DLSU and was one of the vital cogs of Northern Consolidated Cement squad which later became the core of the San Miguel Beermen. He was noted as the Triggerman of the RP Youth team that crushed China for the ABC youth championship at the Araneta Coliseum in 1982. Tanduay Distillers, Inc. () is a Philippine alcoholic beverage company. It is a subsidiary of LT Group, a conglomerate owned by Filipino business magnate Lucio Tan. As of 2019, it is the world's largest rum brand. History Tanduay traces its origins to a distillery in Hagonoy, Bulacan originally owned by Elías Menchatorre. In 1856, the distillery was acquired by Valentin Teus e Yrisarry and brought into Ynchausti y Compañía, a prominent Philippine multi-national conglomerate led by the Ynchausti family. Although the Hagonoy distillery was already in operation at the time of the acquisition, Ynchausti y Compañia decided to use its own foundation date (1854) as the distillery's foundation date. Six years later, a rectifying plant was constructed in Isla de Tanduay, bordering the Quiapo and San Miguel districts of Manila, becoming the original Tanduay distillery. The Tanduay Rhum Makers (1975-1987) and Tanduay Rhum Masters (1999-2001) were two basketball franchises associated with the same liquor brand that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The original franchise, owned by Elizalde & Co., Inc., was a founding member of the PBA. From 1975-1980, the team played under the name Tanduay Distillery; Tanduay ESQ and Tanduay Esquires; then as, YCO-Tanduay in 1981-1983. The final name used by the original franchise was the Tanduay Rhum Makers (1983-1987). The original franchise won a total of three PBA championships. The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with the Magnolia Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. The Crispa Redmanizers were a multi-titled Filipino basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1984. It was one of the nine founding teams of the PBA, winning a total of thirteen PBA championships, including two Grand Slam (PBA), grand slams. Founded in 1956 by businessman Valeriano "Danny" Floro, the team was owned by P. Floro and Sons, Inc. (defunct).
