1984 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship
The 1984 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship was the 13th annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. Florida International defeated defending champions Seattle Pacific in the final, 1–0 (after one overtime period), to win their second Division II national title. The Golden Panthers (14-4-3), who previously won in 1982, were coached by former NFL player Karl Kremser. The final match was played on December 8 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle, Washington. NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship
The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship is the annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. It has been played annually since 1972; prior to then, all teams competed in a single class. The most successful program has been Southern Connecticut State, with six national titles. The current champion are Franklin Pierce, who won their first national title in 2022, defeating CSU Pueblo, 2–0, in the final. Format The Division II tournament is structured around four unbalanced Super Regionals from the eight NCAA regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West). At least two and as many as six teams from each region are selected with no automatic qualifiers given. New Haven Chargers Men's Soccer
The New Haven Chargers are the athletic teams that represent the University of New Haven, located in West Haven, Connecticut, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Chargers' 18 varsity athletics teams, seven men's and 11 women's, compete as members of the Northeast-10 Conference, with the exception of women's rugby (added for Fall 2021) which competes under USA Rugby. New Haven has been a member of the NE10 since 2008. In 2016-2017, the women's volleyball and baseball team won Northeast-10 Conference championships. Overall 12-of-16 teams qualified for postseason play, while six teams (men's & women's cross country, volleyball, baseball, women's lacrosse and softball) advanced to the NCAA Championships. The NAIA Men's Soccer Championship is the annual tournament to determine the national champions of NAIA men's collegiate soccer in the United States and Canada. It has been held annually since 1959. The NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship is an annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III collegiate men's soccer in the United States. The NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, sometimes known as the College Cup, is an American intercollegiate soccer tournament conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and determines the Division I men's national champion. The tournament has been formally held since 1959, when it was an eight-team tournament. Since then, the tournament has expanded to 48 teams, in which every Division I conference tournament champion is allocated a berth. Among the most successful programs, Saint Louis won 10 titles during dynasty years between 1959 and 1973. Troy Edwards (soccer)
Troy Edwards (born January 21, 1964 in Coral Gables, Florida) is a retired U.S. soccer defender who played professionally in several U.S. leagues including one season in Major League Soccer. He was a member of two college championship teams and one runner up and in 1989 scored the winning goal in the Fort Lauderdale Strikers national championship victory over the San Diego Nomads. Player High school and college Edwards grew up in Miami, Florida. He played soccer at Miami Killian High School where he was an All-Dade County player. The Tampa Spartans are the athletic teams that represent the University of Tampa, located in Tampa, Florida, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Davis & Elkins Senators are the athletic teams that represent Davis & Elkins College, located in Elkins, West Virginia, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Senators compete as members of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) for all sports except men's lacrosse, which is an affiliate of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
