Baby Dalupan
Virgilio "Baby" Adam Dalupan (October 19, 1923 – August 17, 2016) was a Filipino basketball coach and player. Dubbed "The Maestro", Dalupan was best known for his lengthy coaching tenure with the Crispa Redmanizers and garnered a career total of 52 basketball championships. During his 16-year Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) career (1975–1991), Dalupan won 15 PBA championships, the most by any PBA coach until February 26, 2014, when Tim Cone won his 16th PBA championship during the 2013–14 PBA Philippine Cup. Dalupan's record of 15 PBA titles went unmatched for 23 years (1990–2013) until Cone tied Dalupan's record on October 26, 2013, during the 2013 PBA Governors' Cup. Transactions Summary Three-time MVP Bogs Adornado and the former Houston Rockets draftee and naturalized filipino Ricardo Brown was signed by Great Taste (formerly N-Rich) in a pair of player deals. In their maiden appearance in the All-Filipino Conference, Adornado and Brown combined for identical outputs of 22 points each in helping Great Taste escape with a 93-92 opening day win over San Miguel Beer. The 1983 Galerie Dominique Artists season was the ninth and final season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Transactions Occurrences Days before the start of the four-team quarterfinal round in the Open Conference, Galerie Dominique team owner and manager Nikki Coseteng formally asked the PBA for some assistance to be able to play in the quarterfinals. It was reported the team was not paying the salaries of imports Larry Fogle and Don Robinson, who both threatened not to play. Galerie Dominique was on the verge of a financial collapse and the PBA earlier had second thoughts of aiding the embattled ballclub. But in a last-minute, the PBA board voted in favor of giving financial assistance to the beleaguered ballclub, thus Fogle and Robinson were able to play for the Artists. Chito Loyzaga
Joaquín "Chito" Cuerva Loyzaga (born August 29, 1958) is a Filipino former professional basketball player and basketball commissioner. He is currently the Athletics Director of the NU Bulldogs in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. He played for the San Beda College in the NCAA before going on to play in the Philippine Basketball Association. PBA career In the PBA, Loyzaga played one game for YCO-Tanduay, then migrated to Australia for two years. He came back to play for Toyota in 1983. Arnulfo "Arnie" Tuadles (August 15, 1956 – November 2, 1996) was a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Career Tuadles began his career as a stalwart in the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association, MICAA, playing for the Manilabank Golden Bankers in the mid-1970s before peddling his wares with the San Miguel Beermen, San Miguel Braves. Frankie Lim
Francisco "Frankie" Lim (born February 29, 1960) is a Filipino former basketball player, basketball coach and executive. He played 15 seasons in the PBA. He later became a successful coach, leading his alma mater San Beda Red Lions to four NCAA seniors titles. Lim is currently the coach of the NLEX Road Warriors. Playing career Lim played collegiate ball at San Beda College where he was a member of the last championship team that won the NCAA crown in 1978 (it was then followed by a 28-year title drought that ended in 2006). The 1983 Tanduay Rhum Makers season was the 9th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known as Yco-Tanduay in the All-Filipino Conference. Summary The Esquires missed out a berth in the round of four in the All-Filipino Conference, finishing just a game behind semifinalist Gilbey's Gin and Toyota. Renamed as Tanduay Rhum Makers in the Reinforced Filipino Conference. The team signed up Francois Wise, formerly of disbanded U-Tex Wranglers, as their import.
