Frantz Mathieu
Frantz Mathieu (born 23 December 1952) is a Haitian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent most of his career in the United States, notably with Chicago Sting. At international level, he made 15 appearances for the Haiti national team. Club career Mathieu spent the 1978–79 season in West Germany with FC St. Pauli, before spending time in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, playing with the Chicago Sting, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Montreal Manic and the Baltimore Blast. Andranik Eskandarian
Andranik Eskandarian (Armenian: , fa, آندرانیک اسکندریان, born 31 December 1951) is an Iranian former footballer. He played as a defender for the F.C. Ararat Tehran, Taj SC and New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. He won the Iranian league in 1975 and reached the second place in 1974. Further he won the Hazfi Cup in 1977. He played six years for Taj SC. Taj's fans called him ''Barbed Wire''. Eskandarian was a member of the Iranian team winning the Asia Cup 1976 in Tehran and reaching the quarterfinals of the Olympic Tournament in Montreal in 1976. He also played for Iran in the 1978 World Cup, the country's first appearance in the tournament. Dave Huson
Dave Huson is a retired footballer from Jersey who played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. In 1979, Huson signed with the California Surf of the North American Soccer League. In 1980, the Surf sent Huson to the Memphis Rogues. At the end of the season, Nelson Skalbania purchased the Rogues and moved them to Calgary renaming the team the Calgary Boomers. Huson then played the 1980–81 NASL indoor season with the Boomers before being traded to the Chicago Sting. On 20 March 1982, the Sting traded Huson, John Tyma and a 1983 third-round draft pick to the Tulsa Roughnecks in exchange for Duncan McKenzie. He was back in Chicago for the 1983 season and would remain there until he was released by the team in May 1985. He then moved to the Chicago Shoccers of the American Indoor Soccer Association. Bruce Wilson (soccer)
Bruce Alec Wilson (born June 20, 1951) is a former NASL and Canadian international soccer player. He played the second most games of any player in the former league, 299 (276 regular season and 23 playoff). He also captained the Canadian team at the 1986 FIFA World Cup finals. In 2012 as part of the Canadian Soccer Association's centennial celebration, he was named to the all-time Canada XI men's team. Playing career After starting his career as an attacking player, he switched to outside fullback where his career flourished in the NASL. He played for the Vancouver Whitecaps from 1974 to 1977, the Chicago Sting in 1978 and 1979, the New York Cosmos in 1980, and the Toronto Blizzard from 1981 to 1984. Gregg Thompson (born August 4, 1960) is an American former soccer player. He played as a defender who was the 1983 North American Soccer League Rookie of the Year. He was also voted team MVP (by his teammates) and the most Popular Player (by the fans) during his rookie year while playing for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He spent two seasons in the NASL and four in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1984 to 1986 and participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics. Raymond Leslie "Ray" Evans (born 20 September 1949) is an English former footballer who played in the position of full back in England and the United States. He played for Tottenham Hotspur, Millwall, Fulham and Stoke City. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Centre-backs are usually positioned in pairs, with one full-back on either side to their left and right, but can be played in threes with or without full-backs. David Watson (footballer, Born 1946)
David Vernon Watson (born 5 October 1946) is an English former professional footballer who played for Notts County, Rotherham United, Sunderland, Manchester City, Werder Bremen, Southampton, Stoke City, Vancouver Whitecaps and Derby County as well at the England national team where he won 65 caps and was captain on three occasions. His brother Peter was also a footballer. Playing career Watson was born in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, and started his career in 1966 as a striker with hometown club Notts County making 26 appearances in two seasons, before moving to Second Division Rotherham United in 1968. Watson was signed by Tommy Docherty in a player exchange deal which involved Keith Pring, going to Notts County and the Millers paying £1,000. Hubert Birkenmeier
Hubert Birkenmeier (born 24 May 1949 in Hartheim am Rhein) is a retired German professional footballer who played professionally in Germany, the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and American Soccer League. His greatest success came with the New York Cosmos in the NASL. Career Birkenmeier began his career in West Germany. In 1970, he signed with Freiburger FC before moving to Tennis Borussia Berlin in 1972. He remained in Berlin until 1977 when the Cosmos of the North American Soccer League purchased his contract. At the time he could not speak English. Birkenmeier remained with the Cosmos until 1985. During those years, he played eight outdoor NASL, two indoor NASL and one Major Indoor Soccer League season. During those years, Birkenmeier was a First Team NASL All Star selection in 1982 and 1984, a Second Teamer in 1981 and an Honorable Mention in 1983.
