Irbid ( ar, إِربِد), known in ancient times as Arabella or Arbela (Άρβηλα in Ancient Greek language, Ancient Greek), is the capital and largest city of the Irbid Governorate. It also has the second largest metropolitan population in Jordan after Amman, with a population of around 2,003,800. Irbid is located about north of Amman on the northern ridge of the Gilead, equidistant from Pella, Jordan, Pella, Beit Ras (Capitolias), and Um Qais, and approximately south of the Syrian border. Al-Wehdat SC
Al-Wehdat Sport Club ( ar, نادي الوحدات الرياضي}) is a Jordanian sport club founded in 1956. The club is based in and represents the Amman New Camp, a Palestinian refugee camp which is also known as Al-Wehdat. Al-Wehdat's home games are played at King Abdullah II Stadium (cap. 13,265). There are other sports offered in the club, such as volleyball, basketball and table tennis. History The club was founded in 1956 under the name Al-Wehdat Youth Center. In 1974, they changed their name to Al-Wehdat Sport Club and have been called that since then (with the exception of 1986–1989 when it was named Al-Diffatain Sport Club.) Ar-Ramtha
Ar-Ramtha ( ar, الرَّمثا, ar-Ramṯā), colloquially transliterated as Ar-Romtha ( ar, الرُّمثا, ar-Rumṯā), is a city situated in the far northwest of Jordan near the border with Syria. It covers 40 km2 on a plain 30 km northeast of the Jordan River and Irbid. In the 2017, Ar-Ramtha had a population of approximately 164,211, making it the eleventh largest city in Jordan, and the second in Irbid Governorate, and the city has grown since then. It is part of the Ar-Ramthā district of the Irbid Governorate. Etymology The origin of the name Ar-Ramtha is debated. Some claim it is named after a local desert plant, al-ramath ( ar, الرمثا). Al-Hussein SC (Irbid) ( ar, الحسين إربد) is a professional football club based in Irbid which competes in the Jordanian Pro League. Al-Hussein (Irbid) participated in the 2005 AFC Cup, winning its group. Al-Faisaly Sports Club ( ar, نادي الفيصلي الرياضي) is a professional football club based in Amman, Jordan, that competes in the Jordanian Pro League, the top flight of Jordanian football. Nicknamed "the Blue Eagles", they were founded as Al-Ashbal Club in 1932.
