Jimmy Connors
James Scott Connors (born September 2, 1952) is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. He held the top Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking for a then-record 160 consecutive weeks from 1974 to 1977 and a career total of 268 weeks. By virtue of his long and prolific career, Connors still holds three prominent Open Era men's singles records: 109 titles, 1,557 matches played, and 1,274 match wins. His titles include eight major singles titles (a joint Open Era record five US Opens, two Wimbledons, one Australian Open), three year-end championships, and 17 Grand Prix Super Series titles. In 1974, he became the second man in the Open Era to win three major titles in a calendar year, and was not permitted to participate in the fourth, the French Open. Connors finished year end number one in the ATP rankings from 1974 to 1978. In 1982, he won both Wimbledon and the US Open and was ATP Player of the Year and ITF World Champion. Bruce Manson
Bruce Manson (born March 20, 1956) is an American former professional tennis player. He achieved a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 17 in 1981. His career high singles ranking was World No. 39, but he did, when ranked 112, defeat world number 1 Björn Borg in 1979 at the Tennis Games Tournament at Mission Hills Country Club. Biography Manson is Jewish, and was born in Los Angeles, California, and lived in North Hollywood. He attended Grant High School. He was the first player to win three consecutive L.A. City Tennis Singles Championships (1973–75). He won the boys 16 and under in the Ojai Tennis Tournament in 1972. Henri Leconte (born 4 July 1963) is a French former professional tennis player. He reached the men's singles final at the French Open in 1988, won the French Open men's doubles title in 1984, and helped France win the Davis Cup in 1991. Jay Lapidus (born May 1, 1959) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Playing career A three time All-American, Lapidus played collegiate tennis for Princeton University. Lapidus won his only Grand Prix tennis circuit, Grand Prix title in 1982, at the Stowe Open. He defeated Tim Mayotte, Brad Gilbert, John Alexander (tennis), John Alexander and Tom Gullikson en route to the final, which he won in straight sets, over Eric Fromm. Timothy Ernest Gullikson (September 8, 1951 – May 3, 1996) was a tennis player and coach who was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin and grew up in Onalaska, Wisconsin in the United States. Gullikson was Pete Sampras' coach from 1992 to 1995. Tennis career In 1977, he won three tour singles titles and was named the ATP's Newcomer of the Year. During his career as a tennis player, Gullikson won 15 top-level doubles titles, ten of them partnering with his identical twin brother, Tom Gullikson. Danie Visser (born 26 July 1961) is a former professional tennis player from South Africa. A doubles specialist, he won three Grand Slam men's doubles titles (two Australian Open and one US Open).
