Eurovision Song Contest 1982
The Eurovision Song Contest 1982 was the 27th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Harrogate, United Kingdom, following the country's victory at the with the song "Making Your Mind Up" by Bucks Fizz. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the contest was held at the Harrogate International Centre on 24 April 1982 and was hosted by English TV presenter and newsreader Jan Leeming. Eighteen countries took part in the contest with deciding not to enter this year. Due the downsizing of their national broadcasters, lost the rights to participating at the contest and so was also forced to withdraw. The winner was with the song "Ein bißchen Frieden" by Nicole. This was the first time that Germany had won the contest after having competed every year since the contest's inception. Denmark was represented by the band Brixx, with the song "Video-video", at the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 24 April in Harrogate, England. "Video-video" was chosen as the Danish entry at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on 13 March. The previous year's Danish entrant Tommy Seebach failed in his bid to represent Denmark for a third time. Before Eurovision Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1982 The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1982 was held at the DR TV studios in Copenhagen, hosted by Jørgen Mylius. 12 songs took part with the winner being decided by voting from five regional juries. Matador (Danish TV Series)
''Matador'' is a Danish TV series produced and shown between 1978 and 1982. It is set in the fictional Danish town of Korsbæk between 1929 and 1947. It follows the lives of a range of characters from across the social spectrum, focusing specifically on the rivalry between the families of two businessmen: banker Hans Christian Varnæs, an established local worthy, and Mads (Andersen-)Skjern, who arrives in town as a travelling salesman as the series opens, and builds up a large business. The name ''Matador'' was taken from the localised edition of the boardgame ''Monopoly'', also the series' tentative English title. In addition, in contemporary Danish a "matador" is often used to describe a business tycoon, in the series referring to the character of Mads Skjern and his craftiness as a self-made entrepreneur. Pilou Asbæk
Johan Philip "Pilou" Asbæk (; born 2 March 1982) is a Danish actor. He is known for his role as troubled spin doctor Kasper Juul in the Danish television political drama '' Borgen'', and as Euron Greyjoy in the television series ''Game of Thrones''. Early life Asbæk was born in Copenhagen, the son of gallery owners Maria Patricia (''née'' Tonn) and Jacob A. Asbæk, who run Galerie Asbæk in Copenhagen. His mother was born in Casablanca, Morocco, to a Danish father and a French mother. His father is from Hammel. He has two older brothers, Thomas Asbæk, an art consultant at Asbæk Art Consulting, and Martin Asbæk, a gallery owner at Martin Asbæk Gallery. Sejr Volmer-Sørensen
Sejr Volmer-Sørensen (7 February 1914 – 11 May 1982) (also known as Volmer-Sørensen and Win Volmer-Sørensen) was a Danish lyricist, actor, director and television host. Born in Kristianstad, Volmer-Sørensen was adopted by a family of leather merchants. In 1932, he graduated and moved to Paris to train as a pianist and made his debut as a musician at the 1934 Tivoli Concert. In 1950 he joined the Danish broadcaster Danmark Radio, where he became a popular radio and television host, on such shows as ''Telefonen ringer'' and ''På'en igen'' which he co-hosted with Christian Arhoff. He also hosted the first five Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (Trials for the Eurovision Song Contest). He wrote the lyrics for the winning Eurovision song Dansevise which was sung by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann. In 1968 he married actress Grethe Sønck.
