Böblingen
Böblingen (; Swabian German, Swabian: ''Beblenga'') is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, seat of Böblingen (district), Böblingen District. Sindelfingen and Böblingen are Geographic contiguity, contiguous. History Böblingen was founded by Count Wilhelm von Tübingen-Böblingen in 1253. Württemberg acquired the town in 1357, and on 12 May 1525 one of the bloodiest battles of the German Peasants' War took place in Böblingen. Jörg Truchsess von Waldburg attacked a force of 15,000 armed peasants; 3,000 were killed. By the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648, the population of Böblingen had been reduced to 600. Mike Tredgett
Michael 'Mike' Graham Tredgett (born 1949) is a former English badminton player who specialized in doubles and played at the world level for more than a decade, winning numerous international men's doubles and mixed doubles titles. Badminton career Tredgett won five medals in the World Championships between 1977 and 1983. He is also one of the most successful players ever in the European Badminton Championships with 5 titles, three of them in men's doubles and two in mixed doubles. England National Badminton Team
The England national badminton team represents England in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by ''Badminton England'', the governing body for badminton in England. The English team is ranked 13 on the world ranking and has had many appearances in international team events. England were runners-up at the 1963 and the 1984 Uber Cup. They've also been semifinalists 4 times at the Uber Cup. The men's team had two semifinal finishes at the 1982 and 1984 edition of the Thomas Cup. England only finished in the final four once in the Sudirman Cup which was in 2007. Steen Skovgaard
Steen Skovgaard is a retired male badminton player from Denmark who specialized in the doubles events and won national and international titles in both men's doubles and mixed doubles from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s. He played for the Gentofte BK. Career The tall, hard-hitting Skovgaard won the gold medal at the 1977 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles with Lene Køppen, defeating Derek Talbot and Gillian Gilks by 15-12, 18-17 in the final. They also won the bronze medal at the 1980 IBF World Championships. At the European Badminton Championships they won two silver medals, in 1976 and 1978. Lilian Anette Börjesson (born 11 November 1954) is a retired female badminton player and footballer from Sweden. Badminton Börjesson is a five time women's singles champion at the Swedish National Badminton Championships and was a silver medalist at the 1980 European Badminton Championships, also in singles, as well as in mixed doubles. Gillian Margaret Clark (born 2 September 1961) is an English badminton commentator and former badminton player who specialized in doubles.
