1982 Chilean Telethon
The 1982 Chilean telethon was the fifth version of the solidarity campaign conducted in Chile, which took place on the 10th and 11 December 1982. The theme of this edition was ''"The Last Step, The Most Important"'', as it was supposed to be the last time the telethon would be produced as it was originally estimated that only 5 editions would be needed, but because of economic needs others would follow, after a 3-year gap. The poster boy was Francisco Muñoz. It was performed at the Teatro Casino Las Vegas in Santiago. The goal was achieved with the sum of $263,402,022. Soprole
Soprole or Sociedad de Productores de Leche is a Chilean maker of dairy products. Under the Soprole brand, the company markets yogurt, milk, desserts, Jelly and butter. It is a subsidiary of Fonterra. History Soprole was created in 1948, initially as a milk, cheese and butter producer. In the 1970s, it diversified its production into more value-added products like juices, pastries and yogurt. Juan Luis Undurraga Aninat, one of the founders, acquired the shares of other investors allowing him to control more than 40 percent of the company. In 1986, The New Zealand Dairy Board, now part of Fonterra, acquired more than 50 percent of Soprole's shares, giving it majority control. Canal 13 (Chile)
Canal 13 is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. It was launched on 21 August 1959, on VHF channel 2 of Santiago, in a broadcast led by a group of engineers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Subsequently, the TV station moved its frequency to VHF channel 13, which gave rise to its current name. In its beginnings, one of its most important milestones was the broadcast of the 1962 FIFA World Cup, held in Chile. Owned by the Andrónico Luksic Craig, Luksic Group, Canal 13 is the second oldest television station in Chile. It was named ''Corporación de Televisión de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile'' (Television Corporation of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile) until 2010. UCV TV
TV+ (pronounced ''Te Ve Más'' or TV Más) is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. which is broadcast from Santiago. Previously known as the Television Corporation of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso or UCV Televisión, it was the oldest television station in the country and the only regional network outside of Santiago that had nationwide coverage. It started broadcasting on an experimental level in the Pontifical University of Valparaíso's buildings in 1957 and was officially launched in August 1959. North Star
Polaris is a star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Minor. It is designated α Ursae Minoris ( Latinized to ''Alpha Ursae Minoris'') and is commonly called the North Star or Pole Star.
