1982 CFL Draft
The 1982 CFL Draft composed of six rounds where 72 Canadian football players were chosen from eligible Canadian universities and Canadian players playing in the NCAA. A total of 18 players were selected as territorial exemptions, with every team making at least one selection during this stage of the draft. CFL Draft
The CFL Draft (also known as the CFL Canadian Draft, CFL College Draft or the Canadian College Draft) is an annual sports draft in which the teams of the Canadian Football League (CFL) select eligible Canadian Football League#Players and compensation, Canadian/non-import players, typically from the ranks of U Sports football or National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA college football. Member clubs make selections based on the reverse order of the previous year's standings, with the team with the worst record being awarded the first selection, the Grey Cup runner-up getting the second-to-last selection and the Grey Cup champion selecting last. The draft is held once every year, approximately six weeks prior to the start of the upcoming season (typically late April or early May). Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Tiger-Cats play their home games at Tim Hortons Field. In 1950, the Tigers merged with cross-town upstart Hamilton Wildcats and adopted the name "Tiger-Cats". Stan Mikawos
Stan Mikawos (born May 11, 1958) is a former Canadian football player. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mikawos played college football at North Dakota. He played professional football in the Canadian Football League as a defensive tackle for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1982 to 1996. During his time with the Blue Bombers, the team won three Grey Cup championships in 1984, 1988 and 1990. In the 1984 Grey Cup game, Mikawos recovered a fumble and ran 22 yards for a touchdown to give the Bombers a 24-17 lead. He was inducted into the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 2000. The North Dakota Fighting Hawks (formerly known as the Fighting Sioux) are the athletic teams that represent the University of North Dakota (UND), located in the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Originally in the Division II North Central Conference, UND began transitioning to NCAA's Division I in 2008 with the football program participating in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Milson Jones
Milson Jones is a former award winning and Grey Cup champion fullback (gridiron football), fullback in the Canadian Football League. Born in Jamaica, Jones was a stand-out player at the University of North Dakota. He joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1982. In 1984, he moved to the Edmonton Eskimos, where in 1987 he won the Grey Cup in a classic game, being named the Dick Suderman Trophy winner.
