Willy Teirlinck
Willy Teirlinck (born 10 August 1948) is a retired Belgian road cyclist. He was professional from 1970 to 1986 and won 96 races. In 1975 he won the national title on the road. Teirlinck rode the Tour de France ten times and won three stages in 1972, one stage and one day in the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification in 1973, and one stage in 1976. His other victories include individual stages of the Vuelta a España, Deutschland Tour, Étoile de Bessèges, Tour de Luxembourg, Tour de l'Oise as well as one day races Grand Prix Pino Cerami, Grand Prix de Fourmies and the Grand Prix de Denain. Scheldeprijs
The Scheldeprijs is a cycling race in Flanders and the Netherlands which starts in Terneuzen, crosses the Scheldt River, and finishes in Schoten. Until 2018 it was held entirely in Belgium. The event, ranked as a 1.HC race on the UCI Europe Tour, features mostly sprinters on its roll of honour, as it is held on all-flat roads over roughly 200 kilometres. First held in 1907, it is the oldest still-existing cycling event in Flanders, notably six years older than the Tour of Flanders '' monument race''. The race had its only interruptions during both World Wars and celebrated its 100th edition in 2012. German sprinter Marcel Kittel holds the record with five wins. Adrie van der Poel (born 17 June 1959 in Bergen op Zoom) is a retired Dutch cyclist. Van der Poel was a professional from 1981 to 2000. His biggest wins included six classics, two stages of the Tour de France and the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in 1996. He also obtained the second place and silver medal in the World Road Championships in 1983 behind Greg LeMond and five second places in the World Cyclo-Cross championships. The Grand Prix Adrie van der Poel is named after him. Adriaan ("Adri") van Houwelingen (born 27 October 1953 in Heesselt, Gelderland) is a retired road bicycle racer from the Netherlands, who was a professional rider from 1978 to 1987. He won the 18th stage at the 1982 Tour de France and the 1983 Ronde van Nederland. He also competed in the team time trial event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Johan van der Velde (born 12 December 1956 in Rijsbergen) is a former Dutch cyclist. In the 1980 Tour de France, he won the young rider classification, also placing 12th in the general classification that year. He had been a racing cyclist for only a year. In the 1981 Tour de France, he took first place on the second and 21st stages, finishing 12th overall for the second year. He rode with TI–Raleigh in the Tour de France from 1979 to 1983 and the Panasonic team where he won Stage 5 and wore the Yellow Jersey for two days in the 1986 Tour de France. Frank Hoste (born 29 August 1955, in Ghent) is a retired Belgian racing cyclist, who won the points classification in the Tour de France in 1984 as well as three stage victories. Hoste was a professional cyclist from 1977 to 1991, then he started a bicycle factory. He rode in 13 grand tours throughout his career, eight times in the Tour de France and five times in the Giro d'Italia.
