1980–81 2. Bundesliga
The 1980–81 2. Bundesliga season was the seventh season of the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system. It was played in two regional divisions, Nord and Süd. This was the final season of the original two region 2. Bundesliga, as the DFB sought to integrate the Nord and Süd divisions into a single division for the next campaign. This meant 22 teams faced the drop to the Oberliga (12 from the Nord, 10 from the Süd). There were three promotion spots to the Bundesliga on offer, while the remaining teams would enter the new single league 2. Bundesliga in the next season. Werder Bremen, Eintracht Braunschweig and SV Darmstadt 98 were promoted to the Bundesliga while twenty two clubs were relegated to the Oberligas. Nord The 1980–81 season saw 1. VfL Osnabrück is a German multi-sport club in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony. It currently fields teams in basketball, gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, and tennis but is by far best known for its football section. The 1981–82 Bundesliga was the 19th season of the Bundesliga, West Germany's premier football league. It began on 8 August 1981 and ended on 29 May 1982. Bayern Munich were the defending champions. Competition modus Every team played two games against each other team, one at home and one away. Teams received two points for a win and one point for a draw. If two or more teams were tied on points, places were determined by goal difference and, if still tied, by goals scored. The team with the most points were crowned champions while the two teams with the fewest points were relegated to 2. Bundesliga. The third-to-last team had to compete in a two-legged relegation/promotion play-off against the third-placed team from 2. Bundesliga. OSV Hannover is a German association football club based in the Oststadt district of Hanover, Lower Saxony. History The club was founded in 1923 as ''Freie Sportvereinigung Hannover Ost''. The club was dissolved in 1933 in the course of the Nazi regime's politically motivated reorganization of sport and football clubs throughout the country and re-constituted as ''Oststädter Sportverein Hannover''. Rot-Weiß Lüdenscheid is a Football in Germany, German association football club playing in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia. History The origins of the club go back to the formation of the ''Luedenscheider Fußball-Klub'' in 1908. In the aftermath of World War I, a number of local sides went through a series of mergers. Late in 1918 ''LFK'' merged with ''FC Preußen 09'' and ''SV Luedenscheider 1910'' to form ''VfB Lüdenscheid 08''. Tennis Borussia Berlin is a German football club based in the locality of Westend in Berlin. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen is a German association football club in Oberhausen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club was formed as ''Oberhausener SV'' in December 1904 out of the merger of ''Emschertaler SV'' (1902) and the football enthusiasts of ''Oberhausener TV 1873''.
