Jóhannes Karl "Joey" Guðjónsson (born 25 May 1980) is an Icelandic former professional footballer and the assistant manager of Iceland. He earned 34 caps for the Iceland national team between 2001 and 2007. His clubs include Real Betis, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, AZ Alkmaar and Burnley. He has played in five top-flight league across Europe. Jón Guðmundsson (1904 – 1980) was an Icelandic chess player, three-times Icelandic Chess Championship winner (1932, 1936, 1937), Chess Olympiad individual gold medal winner (1939). Stefán Jóhann Stefánsson
Stefán Jóhann Stefánsson (20 July 1894 – 20 October 1980) was the first actual minister of Foreign Affairs in Iceland from 18 November 1941 to 17 January 1942. He was prime minister of Iceland from 4 February 1947 to 6 December 1949. He was first elected to the Althing in 1934 but did not get reelected in 1937. From 1942 to 1953, he regained his seat in the Althing. He was chairman of the now defunct Social Democratic Party (''Alþýðuflokkurinn'') from 1938 to 1952. He was ambassador of Iceland in Denmark from 1957 to 1965. He was minister for social affairs from 1939 to 1941 and Minister of Foreign and Social Affairs from 1941 to 1942. He was Prime-Minister when Island joined NATO in 1949. He was born in Dagverðareyri, Iceland, to Stefán Ágúst Oddsson and Ólöf Árnadóttir. Stefán gained his degree in Law in 1922. Marel Jóhann Baldvinsson (born 18 December 1980) is an Icelandic football forward who last played for Stjarnan. Club career He started his career in Breiðablik, but moved to Norway early in his career. In October 1997, Marel went on trial with Manchester United. After a fruitless trial with Rosenborg BK, he signed with Stabæk with a deal worth 600,000 Euro. Kristján Örn Sigurðsson (often spelled Sigurdsson; born 7 October 1980 in Akureyri) is an Icelandic footballer who is a player-assistant manager for Þór. Club career He started his career at his local club ÍF Völsungur Húsavik, and moved to Stoke City in England as a teenager. Failing to grab a place on the first team, he returned to Iceland to play for KR. After the 2004 season he moved to SK Brann in Bergen, Norway where he plays as a defender.
