The Falcons were trying to improve upon their 9–7 record in 1978 and make it to the playoffs for the second time in team history, their first appearance being the year before. Rookie fullback William Andrews rushed for 167 yards in a 40–34 overtime win over the Saints in the season opener in New Orleans. Andrews set a team record with 1,023 yards, while quarterback Steve Bartkowski became the first Falcon to surpass the 2,000-yard mark with 2,505. The National Football Conference - Western Division or NFC West is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. The division was formed in 1967 as the National Football League Coastal Division, keeping with the theme of having all of the league's divisions starting with the letter "C." The Northeastern State RiverHawks football program represents Northeastern State University in college football and competes in the NCAA Division II. In 2012, Northeastern State became member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), and has remained in the league. NSU's home games are played at Doc Wadley Stadium in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Northeastern's football program dates back to 1909. Michael Henry Moroski (born September 4, 1957) is an American football coach and former player. He is the football head coach at College of Idaho. Moroski played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Oilers and the San Francisco 49ers. College career Moroski attended the University of California at Davis, where he played quarterback for the UC Davis Aggies football team under head coach Jim Sochor before graduating in 1979. He was also a pitcher on the Aggies baseball team. Moroski was enshrined into the Cal Aggie Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985. Professional career Moroski played in every game of each of the 1983 and 1984 seasons as well as 15 in 1986. He threw for over 1,200 yards in 1984.
