Caribbean Elections
The result was a victory for the People's Liberation Movement (Montserrat), People's Liberation Movement (PLM), which won all seven seats in the Legislative Council of Montserrat, Legislative Council. PLM leader John Osborne (Montserrat politician), John Osborne became Chief Minister of Montserrat, Chief Minister.


Campaign

A total of 18 candidates contested the elections; both the PLM and the ruling Progressive Democratic Party (Montserrat), Progressive Democratic Party nominated seven candidates, with four independents also running.

Montserrat
Montserrat ( ) is a British Overseas Territories, British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. It is part of the Leeward Islands, the northern portion of the Lesser Antilles chain of the West Indies. Montserrat is about long and wide, with roughly of coastline.
