The 1977-1978 FIRA Trophy was the 18th edition of a European rugby union championship for national teams. The tournament was won by France national rugby union team, France, with a Grand Slam (rugby union), Grand Slam. Romania national rugby union team, Romania finished in 2nd place, while Spain national rugby union team, Spain had a surprising 3rd place, defeating Italy national rugby union team, Italy (10-3), in Madrid, to repeat the same place of the previous tournament. Rugby Union
Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. Giuseppe Artuso (born 14 November 1956 in Reggio Calabria), is a former Italian rugby union player and currently, coach. He played as a flanker. Biography Hailing from Calabria, Artuso played for all of his rugby career for Petrarca Rugby, Petrarca, club from Padua where he achieved several player successes and which he also coached and managed.
