1977 Scottish Cup Final
The 1977 Scottish Cup Final was played on 7 May 1977 at Hampden Park in Glasgow and was the final of the 92nd Scottish Cup. Celtic and Rangers contested the match, Celtic won the match 1–0 with Andy Lynch scoring a penalty in the 20th minute after Johnstone was judged to have handled the ball on the line. The match was the first Scottish Cup final to be televised live since the 1955 final. Rain and the televising of the match led to it having the lowest post-war attendance for a final to that date. This was Jock Stein's 25th trophy as Celtic manager and the last one he won. Paul Wilson (Scottish Footballer)
Paul Wilson (23 November 1950 – 18 September 2017) was an Indian-born Scottish professional footballer, who played for Celtic, Motherwell and Partick Thistle. His football career peaked in season 1974–75 after being moved to play as a striker when he scored 29 goals for Celtic, including two in that season's Scottish Cup final win. He played for Scotland that season, making him the only non-white player to represent the full Scotland team in the 20th century, and the first footballer with Asian origins to represent any of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland at senior level. Tommy McLean
Thomas McLean Jr. (born 2 June 1947 in Larkhall) is a Scottish former professional football player and manager. McLean played for Kilmarnock, Rangers and Scotland as a midfielder. He managed Morton, Motherwell, Hearts, Raith Rovers and Dundee United. Early life McLean grew up in Ashgill, Lanarkshire, along with his elder brothers Jim and Willie, who would also become successful players and managers. Thomas Forsyth (23 January 1949 – 14 August 2020) was a Scottish football player and coach. Forsyth played as a defender for Motherwell, Rangers and Scotland. Playing career Club Forsyth started his career at junior club Stonehouse Violet, then spent five years at Motherwell, playing over 200 times for the club before being signed by Rangers in October 1972. John Greig
John Greig (born 11 September 1942) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played as a defender. He spent his entire career with Rangers, as a player, manager and director. Greig was voted "The Greatest Ever Ranger" in 1999 by the club's supporters, and has been elected to Rangers' Hall of Fame. Colin MacDonald Jackson (8 October 1946 – 6 June 2015) was a Scottish footballer, who played predominantly for Rangers and the Scotland national team. Career Jackson, a defender, initially joined Rangers straight from Ruthrieston School in 1962. He had a spell with Aberdeen side Sunnybank Athletic before rejoining the ''Light Blues'' in 1963. Sandy Jardine
William "Sandy" Pullar Jardine (31 December 1948 – 24 April 2014) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Rangers, Hearts and represented Scotland. He played over 1000 professional games and twice won the Scottish Football Writers Association Player of the Year award. He won several honours with Rangers, including two domestic trebles in 1976 and 1978, and was part of the Rangers team that won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. Stewart Kennedy (born 31 August 1949 in Stirling) is a Scottish former professional football goalkeeper, who played for Stenhousemuir, Rangers, Forfar Athletic and St Johnstone. Kennedy played in five full international matches for Scotland, all in 1975. Jock Stein
John "Jock" Stein (5 October 1922 – 10 September 1985) was a Scottish football player and manager. He was the first manager of a British side to win the European Cup, with Celtic in 1967. Stein also guided Celtic to nine successive Scottish League championships between 1966 and 1974. Stein worked as a coalminer while playing football part-time for Blantyre Victoria and then Albion Rovers.
