1977 Humboldt State Lumberjacks Football Team
The 1977 Humboldt State Lumberjacks football team represented Humboldt State University during the 1977 NCAA Division II football season. Humboldt State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC).The Northern California Athletic Conference (NCAC) was known as the Far Western Conference (FWC) from its founding in 1925 to 1982. The 1977 Lumberjacks were led by head coach Bud Van Deren in his 12th season. They played home games at the Redwood Bowl in Arcata, California. Bud Van Deren
Frank P. "Bud" Van Deren (November 22, 1924 – September 9, 2010) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Humboldt State University from 1966 to 1985, compiling a record of 98–101–4. University Endowment Lands, British Columbia
The University Endowment Lands (UEL) is an unincorporated area that lies to the west of the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and adjacent to the University of British Columbia and the lands associated with that campus. Pacific Spirit Regional Park lies within the UEL. The UEL is part of Metro Vancouver. Mail sent to the UEL is addressed to "Vancouver" rather than the UEL. Thunderbird Stadium is an outdoor stadium on the University Endowment Lands in British Columbia, Canada. It is located west of Vancouver's city limits, and is primarily used for soccer and football by the UBC Thunderbirds. It seats 3,500 in the main grandstand, plus grass seating for about 5,000 people on the west side and ends of the stadium, and by using the surrounding grass embankment the facility can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators.
