American League West
The American League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. The division has five teams as of the 2013 season, but had four teams from 1994 to 2012, and had as many as seven teams before the 1994 realignment. Although its teams currently only reside along the West Coast of the United States, west coast and in Texas, historically the division has had teams as far east as Chicago. From 1998 (when the NL West expanded to five teams) to 2012, the AL West was the only MLB division with four teams. The current champion of this division is the Houston Astros. In 2013, the Houston Astros went from the National League Central to the AL West. That move gives all six MLB divisions an equal five teams and both leagues an equal 15 teams each. Daryl Sconiers
Daryl Anthony Sconiers (born October 3, 1958) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. Sconiers attended Fontana High School in Fontana, California though he told the ''Los Angeles Times'' his friends were not interested in school and he attended only often enough to maintain eligibility for the school's baseball team. As a senior at Fontana, he had a batting average of .515. He was undrafted out of high school and played college baseball at Orange Coast College. He played all or part of five seasons with the California Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB), between and . For a period in May 1982, Sconiers was absent from the team without permission or explanation and the Angels organization was unable to locate or contact him. John Caneira
John Cascaes Caneira (born October 7, 1952) is a retired professional baseball player who played two seasons for the California Angels of Major League Baseball. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Caneira went to Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck, Connecticut. He went 7-0 in his senior season, and was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the 1970 MLB Draft. He opted instead to attend Division III Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Connecticut. In college, he had an overall 105-20 record, and was a three-time NAIA All-American. In 1972 and 1973, he played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) for the Bourne Canalmen (1972) and Chatham A's (1973). Ken Brett
Kenneth Alven Brett (September 18, 1948 – November 18, 2003) was an American Major League Baseball pitcher and the second of four Brett brothers who played professional baseball, the most notable being the youngest, George Brett. Ken played for ten teams in his 14-year MLB career. Born in Brooklyn, Brett grew up in El Segundo, a suburb of Los Angeles just south of Los Angeles International Airport. Michael Roswell Barlow (born April 30, 1948) is a retired professional baseball player who played seven seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Angels, and Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Gary Lynn Nolan (born May 27, 1948) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher from through , most notably as a member of the Cincinnati Reds dynasty that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976.
