The 1976 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were on March 10–13, 1976 in Megève, France. Sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which younger figure skaters compete for the title of World Junior Champion. It was the first World Junior Figure Skating Championships to be held. Megève
Megève (; frp, Megéva) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France with a population of more than 3,000 residents. Michael Pasfield (born 1961) is an Australian former competitive figure skater. He won the Australian national title in the 1980–81 and 1981–82 seasons, representing New South Wales. He competed at three World Junior Championships, finishing twice in the top ten, and at two World Championships. Pasfield began learning to skate in May 1970 in group lessons. Jozef (Jumping Joe) Sabovčík (born 4 December 1963) is a Slovak figure skater who competed representing Czechoslovakia. He is the 1984 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time European champion (1985 and 1986), and a six-time Czechoslovak national champion.
