1975 World Championship Series
The 1975 Rugby League World Championship (also referred to as the World Series) was the seventh tournament for the Rugby League World Cup. The format differed from that employed in previous competitions; no single country hosted the matches, which were spread out in a 'world series' hosted by each of the five participating nations over a period of just over eight months. Each team had to play the others on a 'home and away' basis. Great Britain national rugby league team, Great Britain were split up into separate England national rugby league team, England and Wales national rugby league team, Wales teams, taking advantage of a glut of Welsh talent in the British game at the time. No final was held, with Australia national rugby league team, Australia being deemed the champions by virtue of finishing on top of the table with England coming in second.

Mick Cronin (rugby League)
Michael William Cronin Order of Australia, OAM (born 28 June 1951 in Kiama, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer and coach. He was a goal-kicking for the Australia national rugby league team, Australian national team and a stalwart for the Parramatta Eels club. He played in 22 Tests and 11 World Cup matches between 1973 and 1982. Cronin retired as the NSWRL Premiership's and the Australian Kangaroos' all-time highest point-scorer and has since been named amongst the nation's finest footballers of the 20th century. Country and early representative career Cronin played for Christian Brothers (now Edmund Rice) in the Illawarra competition as an under 12. He was so good that when his team made the semi-finals the opposition appealed against Cronin's inclusion on residence grounds, claiming he was from Gerringong.
