Juni 1975 : Verfassung Direct Democracy The constitution for the new breakaway state provided for a presidential republic in which the president could serve a maximum of two terms of four years, and for a unicameral parliament of 40 seats. Northern Cyprus ( tr, Kuzey Kıbrıs), officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC; tr, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti, ''KKTC''), is a ''de facto'' state that comprises the northeastern portion of the Geography of Cyprus, island of Cyprus.
