The Landtag of Lower Austria is the state parliament of the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It exercises the state legislation (legislature). The seat of the Landtag is in St. Pölten in the Landhausviertel. The Lower Austrian Parliament is composed of 56 members of parliament. The term of office is five years. Elections are held in accordance with the Lower Austrian Landtag election regulations of 1992. 21 constituencies in Lower Austria correspond to the political districts. The statutory cities belong to the district of the same name or the surrounding district. The number of deputies corresponds to the number of inhabitants. To be eligible to stand as a candidate, a candidate must be 18 years of age (on election day) and have at least 50 declarations of consent. They are nominated by a political party. Sophie Schulz
Sophie Schulz (; 23 May 1905 – 24 April 1975) was an Austrian politician who served in the Landtag of Lower Austria from 1959 until 1965 as a member of the Austrian People's Party. During her tenure, she introduced revised regulations for the state's spas and health resorts. Biography Sophie Schulz () was born on 23 May 1905. A resident of Baden bei Wien, she was a member of the Christian Social Party during the Interwar period. After the war, she joined the Austrian People's Party. Ilse Erika Korotin (born 1957 in Horn, Lower Austria) is an Austrian philosopher and sociologist. She researched and published on the history of ideas of Nazism. At the Institute for Science and Art in Vienna, she heads the Documentation Centre for Women's Studies. Her work focuses on feminist biographical research and history of science. Life and work Ilse Korotin completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller. After several years of professional activity, she studied philosophy and sociology at the University of Vienna from 1983. In 1990, she received her doctorate in philosophy, and since then she has been working at the Vienna Institute for Science and Art, since 1991 as head of the Documentation Centre for Women's Studies.
