The Circuit Paul Ricard () is a French motorsport race track built in 1969 at Le Castellet, Var, near Marseille, with finance from pastis magnate Paul Ricard. Ricard wanted to experience the challenge of building a racetrack. The circuit has hosted the FIA Formula One French Grand Prix intermittently from to , and every year from to as well as from to . Adu Celso-Santos (born Eduardo Celso Santos, 7 August 1945 - 6 February 2005) was a Brazilian professional motorcycle road racer. He was the first Brazilian to compete in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Celso-Santos was popular on the Grand Prix circuit during first half of the 1970s. He raced from 1972 to the 1975 season before returning to Brazil. In the 1973 Grand Prix season, he gained his only victory in a race counting for world championship points when he won the 350cc class at the Spanish Grand Prix held at the Jarama Circuit. Alex George (born March 1949) is a Scottish former professional motorcycle road racer. He competed in the Grand Prix world championships in 1970 and then from 1973 to 1979. George was a street circuit specialist and was a three-time winner at the Isle of Man TT. His best year in world championship competition came in 1975 when he finished in seventh place in the 500 cc Grand Prix world championship. Born in Glasgow, George finished tenth in the 500 class in 1973. During the 1975 500cc world championship, he scored podium results with a third place behind Phil Read and Giacomo Agostini at the 500cc Czechoslovak Grand Prix and a third place behind Dieter Braun and Pentti Korhonen at the 350 cc Dutch TT.
