1975 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 1975 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 66th staging of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1909. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 26 January 1975. On 10 August 1975, Ballinhassig won the championship following a 3–12 to 2–05 defeat of Blackrock in the final at the Mardyke. This was their first ever championship title. Blackrock's Danny Buckley was the championship's top scorer with 6-05. Tim Crowley
Timothy Crowley (born 14 May 1952) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Newcestown and divisional side Carbery and was also a member of the Cork senior hurling team. Early life Born and raised in Newcestown, County Cork, Crowley first played as a schoolboy in various local competitions before later lining out as a student at St Finbarr's College in Cork. His brother, Paddy Crowley, had been a member of the first St Finbarr's team to win the All-Ireland title in 1963, with Crowley himself claiming Harty Cup and All-Ireland titles in 1969. Club career Crowley began his club career as a dual player at juvenile and underage levels with Newcestown. He was still eligible for the minor grade when he progressed onto the club's adult teams and won a South West JHC title in his debut season in 1969. Carrigaline GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Carrigaline in County Cork, Ireland. The club fields both Gaelic football and hurling teams in competitions organised by Cork County Board. The club is part of the Carrigdhoun division of Cork. They are a Senior Football club, and a Premier Intermediate Hurling club. Cork Inter-county player Nicholas Murphy plays his club football with Carrigaline. Cloughduv GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the village of Cloughduv in County Cork, Ireland. The club is a member of the Muskerry division of Cork GAA. The club fields hurling team only. There are two Gaelic football clubs in the parish (Kilmurry parish) - Canovee and Kilmurry - and there is often an overlap of players between the different clubs. History Hurling in the area pre-dates the founding of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Thurles in 1884; when the Cork County Board was inaugurated in 1886, 21 clubs attended including Ryecourt GAA represented by Michael J Keane. Ballincollig GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA board and plays in the Muskerry divisional competitions. Midleton Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Midleton in County Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History The concept of a Gaelic Athletic Association was first mooted in 1883 when a sub-committee of the Irish Republican Brotherhood was formed with the ideal of creating a National Athletic body. Newtownshandrum GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the small village of Newtownshandrum in County Cork, Ireland. The club, situated in half a parish of about 800 people, was founded in 1896 and is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. In senior hurling Newtownshandrum compete annually in the Cork Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they have won four times as of 2009.
