Chilean Primera División
The Chilean Primera División (English: First Division) is the top-tier league of the Chilean football league system. It is organized by the ''Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, ANFP''. The league is known as the Campeonato AFP PlanVital for sponsorship reasons. Format As of the 2018 season, 16 teams compete in the league, playing against each other two times, home and away. Relegation and promotion Currently, the two teams with the worst scores in the season, are relegated to Primera B, and replaced by the Champions and Runners-up of this Division. Qualification for international competitions The champions of the Campeonato are immediately qualified to the Copa Libertadores for the next year, as well as the second and third place. Juan Carlos Sarnari (22 January 1942 – 21 April 2023) was an Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder. He scored 29 goals in the Copa Libertadores, making him the 6th-highest scoring player in Copa Libertadores history. Playing career Sarnari started his career at River Plate at the age of 17. In 1963 he spent a season with Huracán. He returned to River in 1964. In 1966 Sarnari was selected to represent the Argentina national team at the 1966 FIFA World Cup. He was capped 6 times and scored 1 goal. In 1967 Sarnari moved to Chile where he played for Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile, in 1973 Sanari moved to Colombia where he played for Independiente MedellÃn and Independiente Santa Fe. Club Social de Deportes Rangers is a Chilean football club based in the city of Talca. The club was founded November 2, 1902 and plays in the second level of the Chilean football system. Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in ValparaÃso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation.
