The 1974 New York Yankees season was the 72nd season for the team. The team finished second in the American League East with a record of 89–73, two games behind the 1974 Baltimore Orioles season, Baltimore Orioles in Bill Virdon's first season as manager. MLB consists of an East, Central, and West division for each of its two 15-team leagues, the American League (AL) and National League (NL). Gerald Braheen Moses (August 9, 1946 – March 27, 2018) was an American professional baseball player. A catcher, he signed a bonus contract with the Boston Red Sox in and spent his early Major League Baseball career with the Bosox, but over the course of his nine years in MLB Moses would play for seven different teams.
