1974 Copa Interamericana
The 1974 Copa Interamericana was the 4th. edition of the Copa Interamericana. The final was contested by Argentine Club Atlético Independiente (champion of 1974 Copa Libertadores) and Guatemalan team C.S.D. As the match attracted more interest of Guatemalan fans than Argentine supporters, both teams agreed to play the series in Guatemala. Copa Interamericana
The Copa Interamericana ( en, Interamerican Cup) was an annual club football competition contested between a representative from North America (CONCACAF) and South America (CONMEBOL). Established in 1969, it was discontinued in 1998 after CONCACAF clubs, particularly those from Mexico, began participating in CONMEBOL competitions. The competition was intended to be contested between the winners of the North American CONCACAF Champions Cup and the South American Copa Libertadores tournaments, although the participants varied at times. The competition was usually contested over a two legged tie, with a playoff or penalty kicks if necessary. However, it was common for several consecutive editions to go unheld. Half Marathon

Rubén Galván (footballer)
Rubén Galván (7 April 1952 – 14 March 2018) was an Argentine football who played as a midfielder for Club Atlético Independiente for most of his career. At international level, he was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup on home soil. Club career Galván is one of the most decorated players in the history of Argentine football with four Copa Libertadores, two Nacional Championships and a World Cup title to his name. Galván was part of the Independiente team that won four consecutive Copa Libertadores titles between 1972 and 1975. He was also part of the team that won back to back Nacional championships in 1977 and 1978. In 1980, he had a short spell with Estudiantes de La Plata but he retired later that year at age 27. Personal life Nicknamed ''el Negro'', Galván had a bout with Hepatitis C that required a liver transplant in 2007. He died of cirrhosis in March 2018. Ricardo Pavoni
Ricardo Elvio Pavoni Cúneo (born August 8, 1943 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan former football defender who played the majority of his career for Club Atlético Independiente in the Argentine First Division. Career Club Pavoni began his football career with the Montevidean club Defensor. Disillusioned with life as a footballer, he was on the point of abandoning the game completely and going to work in a casino as a croupier until he was convinced to play football for Independiente of Argentina. The left-sided full-back has been described as a natural leader and the perfect man-marker. He was also responsible for scoring 57 goals. He arrived to Independiente at age 21 to replace Tomás Rolan, another Uruguayan who had suffered a serious injury. Francisco Sá
Francisco Pedro Manuel Sá (born 25 October 1945, in Las Lomitas, Formosa) is a retired Argentine football defender. Sá holds the record for the most Copa Libertadores titles, he won six; 4 consecutive titles with Club Atlético Independiente between 1972 and 1975, and a further 2 with Boca Juniors in 1977 and 1978. Career Sá started his career with Central Goya in the lower leagues, he then had a spell with Huracán de Corrientes before joining River Plate in 1969. In 1971 Sá joined Independiente where he was part of the team that won the Metropolitano 1971 title followed by an unprecedented four consecutive Copa Libertadores titles. He also won the first of his two Intercontinental Cup title in 1973. Miguel Ángel López (footballer)
Miguel Angel Lopez (born 1 March 1942 in Argentina), nicknamed ''Zurdo'', is an Argentinean retired footballer. As a player, López had his most successful tenure on Independiente, where he won eight titles. Player career López started playing in Unión Central of Villa María, Córdoba, then moving to Club Universitario. In 1963 he was traded to Sarmiento de Junín, then to Estudiantes de La Plata to make his debut in 1964. Three years later he signed for Ferro Carril Oeste in exchange for Felipe Ribaudo. His good performances in Ferro led López to be capped for the Argentina national football team. At club level, he then moved to River Plate, then to Independiente, where he spent his most successful years as a player. Eduardo Antonio Commisso (born 29 July 1948 in Avellaneda) is a former Argentina, Argentine Association football, football midfielder who won the Copa Libertadores with Club Atlético Independiente, Independiente on four consecutive occasions. He also played for Hércules CF of Spain. Career Commisso began playing for his home town club Club Atlético Independiente, Independiente in 1968. He made 208 league appearances for the club and a further 23 in international tournaments. Julio César Anderson
Julio César Anderson Quiroga (27 November 1947 – 7 August 2021) was a Guatemalan professional football striker who played the majority of his career for C.S.D. Municipal, in the Liga Mayor A, the top tier in the country. He was on the squad when it won the 1974 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. When he retired, he was the club's all-time leading goalscorer, and was the top scorer of the Liga Nacional three straight years. He was briefly in Mexico's top league, the Primera División. Benjamín Eduardo ("''Mincho''") Monterroso Díaz (born January 1, 1952) is a Guatemalan football coach and former midfielder who spent the majority of his playing career at the local club Municipal, and is also a former player and current manager of the Guatemalan women's national team. Playing career Monterroso played for Municipal from 1970 to 1979, being part of the squad that won the IV CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1974. He also played in the only Copa Interamericana final played by a Guatemalan team. After a 1–1 aggregate against Argentina's Independiente, Monterroso missed during the penalty shootout.
