1972–73 Albanian Cup
1972–73 Albanian Cup ( sq, Kupa e Shqipërisë) was the twenty-first season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began in August 1972 with the First Round and ended in May 1973 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 1973-74 first round of the UEFA Cup. Vllaznia were the defending champions, having won their second Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Partizani. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. If the number of away goals was equal in both games, the match was decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. FK Partizani Tirana
Futboll Klub Partizani, or FK Partizani for short, is an Albanian professional football club based in Tirana, that competes in the Kategoria Superiore. Founded in 1946, the club was historically affiliated to the Albanian army. Partizani's current temporary home ground is Arena Kombëtare and the newly built stadium at Partizani Complex. The club first competed in an official competition in 1947 where they won the Albania National Championship, thus being crowned the champions of Albania in their debut season as well as the following two seasons. In total the club have been national champions on 16 occasions between 1947 and 2019, which is the last time the club won the Kategoria Superiore. KF Shkëndija Tiranë is an Albanian football club based in Tirana, and is the football team of the Sports mastery school Loro Boriçi. The academy is famous for being one of the most successful in the country and has produced 35 Albanian international footballers. The club's glory days were in the 1970s where they were regulars in the Kategoria Superiore and were featured in the Balkan Cup in 1971–72. Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. Qemal Stafa Stadium
The Qemal Stafa Stadium ( sq, Stadiumi Qemal Stafa), named after Qemal Stafa (1920–1942), a Albanian Resistance of World War II, World War II hero, was a national stadium and the largest football (soccer), football stadium in Tirana, Albania. Construction started in 1939 and the stadium was inaugurated in 1946 for the Balkan Cup 1946, Balkan Cup, which was won by the Albania national football team. The stadium has been used for football matches of the Albanian Superliga and the national team, athletics (sport), athletic events, and the six Spartakiad (Albania), Albanian Spartakiads. Although it was enlarged in 1974 to accommodate up to 35,000 spectators, in the 1990s it became an all-seater stadium, and its capacity was reduced to 19,700. KF Luftëtari (), also known as Luftëtari FC or simply Luftëtari was an Albanian football club based in Gjirokastër, southern Albania. KF Lushnja is an Albanian football (soccer), football club based in the city of Lushnjë in the County of Fier. Their home ground is the Abdurrahman Roza Haxhiu Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Parë. KF Tomori is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Parë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad. They brought back footballs and the rules of the game from their travels which they then passed onto the locals. KF Apolonia is an Albanian football club based in Fier. The club was founded on 17 June 1925 and took its name from the nearby ruins of the ancient city of Apollonia.
