1972 Palestine Cup Of Nations
The 1972 Palestine Cup was the 1st edition of the Palestine Cup of Nations, it was held in Baghdad, Iraq between 1 January and 14 January. The tournament apparently acted as replacement for the Arab Nations Cup (or was just another name for it), which was otherwise not held between 1966 and 1985. Nine nations took part in the competition of which Egypt won. Omar Betrouni
Omar Betrouni ( ar, عمر بطرونى; born 9 January 1949) is a former Algeria international football forward who played for MC Alger and USM Alger. Playing career Born in Algiers, Betrouni played club football for MC Alger for more than a decade, winning the Algerian league championship five times and the Algerian cup three times. He also led the league in goal-scoring once and helped MC Alger win the 1976 African Cup of Champions Clubs. He joined USM Alger in 1980 and would finish his career with the club, winning the Algerian cup once more. Betrouni made 48 appearances for the senior Algeria national football team, including four FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. He made his debut in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Morocco on 10 December 1970. Douglas Aziz Shamasha Eshaya (; born 1 January 1942) is an Iraqi former football player and caretaker coach. He represented the Iraq national team, and is ethnically Assyrian. Club career He was a pillar for club and country during the late 1960s and through the 1970s. He made his league debut in 1964 and spent 15 inspiring seasons with Aliyat Al-Shorta in the Iraq Central FA League and Al-Shorta in the Iraqi Premier League, where he was a key figure in the side along with Abid Kadhim, Majeed Ali, Latif Shandal and Riyadh Nouri.
