The 1972 AFC Asian Cup was the 5th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), that was hosted in Thailand . Bahram Mavaddat ( fa, بهرام مودت; born 30 January 1950) is a retired Iranian football player. Club career Mavaddat started his professional career for Shahin F.C. After playing for Paykan F.C., he changed to Persepolis F.C., where he won the Iranian championships in 1974 and in 1976 and reach the runner-up position in 1975. Mehdi Monajati ( fa, مهدی مناجاتی, born 29 June 1947) is a retired Iranian footballer and Coach. Club career Monajati started his professional football career with Pas Tehran in his homeland in Tehran. He played his whole football career with Pas Tehran playing with the team for 15 years. In five of his career with Pas he played was a Team meli player. International career Monajati debuted for the Iran national football team on 13 September 1969 in a friendly match against Pakistan which ended 4-2 victory for Iran. He played his next two games against Turkey. Monajati then debuted his first FIFA tournament by competing against Denmark in 1972 Summer Olympics which ended a 0-4 loss. He also played three 1974 FIFA World cup qualifying matches which two of them was a win for Iran, in those three matches he did manage to score a goal against North Korea. Parviz Ghelichkhani ( fa, پرویز قلیچ‌خانی, born 4 December 1945) is an Iranian-French retired football player and former captain of Iran national football team. He is now based in France, where he is the editor and publisher of a political magazine. Football career Club career He played for Alborz F.C. (Kyan's reserve team), Kian F.C., Taj, Pas F.C., Oghab F.C., Daraei F.C. and finally Persepolis F.C., before leaving for the United States where he played for the San Jose Earthquakes in the North American Soccer League. Ebrahim Ashtiani (Persian: ابراهیم اشتیانی; January 1942 – 24 October 2017) was an Iranian football player. He played for the Iran national football team and spent most of his career at Persepolis. His son Ardalan is also a professional football player. Club career First years He began his playing career with Boostan and Poolad (under-19 and under-23 team of Shahin) and was promoted to the first team in 1964, by Abbas Ekrami. He showed good performances and became one of the starting players after the 1966–67 season. The Iranian Oghab ( fa, عقاب, meaning "Eagle") sometimes spelled as Akab and Okab missile is an unguided 230 mm (9 in) artillery rocket with a range of 34–45 km (20–28 mi). It is spin-stabilized in flight but has a proven circular error probable in excess of 500 m (1,500 ft), making it a highly inaccurate weapon. Mostafa Arab (born August 13, 1941) is a retired Iranian association football defender. After Hossein Kaebi, Arab is the second youngest Iran national football team player of all time, debuting at the age of 16. Jafar Kashani
Jafar Ashraf Kashani ( fa, جعفر اشرف کاشانی, March 21, 1944 – October 2, 2019) was an Iranian football player. He was scouted by Abbas Ekrami, Shahin F.C.'s founder when he was 16.
