1971 NAIA Soccer Championship
The 1971 NAIA Soccer Championship was the 13th annual tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its members in the United States. In a rematch of the previous year's final, Quincy (IL) defeated defending champions Davis & Elkins in the final, 1–0, to claim the Hawks' third NAIA national title. For the second consecutive year, the final was played in Dunn, North Carolina. Qualification For the fourth year, the tournament field remained fixed at eight teams. Unlike the previous three years, however, additional fifth- and seventh-place finals were not contested. 1971 NCAA Soccer Championship
The 1971 NCAA soccer tournament was the 13th annual tournament organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its members in the United States. This was the final championship before the establishment of separate championships for the NCAA's University Division (now Division I) and College Division (now Divisions II and III) in 1972. The final match was played at the Miami Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on December 30. Howard initially won their first national title—defeating two-time defending champion Saint Louis, 3–2, in the championship game—but the Bison's title would later be vacated by the NCAA on disputed player eligibility grounds. NJIT Highlanders Men's Soccer
The NJIT Highlanders, formerly the New Jersey Tech Highlanders, are the varsity sport members of the Division I NCAA-affiliated sports teams of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). There are ten men's teams, seven women's teams, and three club teams along with a variety of intramural teams. The school's primary conference is the America East Conference. In November 2017 NJIT opened the Wellness and Events Center (WEC) which incorporates upgraded facilities for most Division 1 sports including a 3,500-seat arena for Basketball and Volleyball.
