1971 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship
The 1971 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship, the Canadian women's curling championship was held February 22 to 26, 1971 at Memorial Stadium, in St. John's, Newfoundland. For the second consecutive year, there would be a three-way tiebreaker playoff to determine the championship as Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan all finished round robin play with 6–3 records. The middle class refers to a class of people in the middle of a social hierarchy, often defined by occupation, income, education, or social status. The term has historically been associated with modernity, capitalism and political debate. Common definitions for the middle class range from the middle fifth of individuals on a nation's income ladder, to everyone but the poorest and wealthiest 20%. Brandon, Manitoba
Brandon () is the second-largest city in the province of Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the southwestern corner of the province on the banks of the Assiniboine River, approximately west of the provincial capital, Winnipeg, and east of the Saskatchewan border. Brandon Curling Club
The Brandon Curling Club is a curling club located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. The club is one of four in the city. The club was founded in 1889-90 at the corner of Manitoba Highway 1A, Victoria Ave and Manitoba Highway 10, 18th St in Downtown Brandon. The club was moved further south in 1953 to the Provincial Exhibition Grounds. Three years later, a fire destroyed the rink, but it as re-built by Fall 1956. Two years later, artificial ice was installed, before fire destroyed the rink once again in 1964. Four months after the fire, it was once again rebuilt. The club was re-located to a different site at the exhibition grounds in 1969-70. The club was added to the Keystone Centre arena in 1992, becoming an 8 sheet club in the process.
