1970 National Soccer League Season
The 1970 National Soccer League season was the forty-seventh season under the National Soccer League (NSL) name. The season began in late April and concluded in early November with the NSL Championship final. The regular-season title was clinched by Toronto Croatia by finishing first throughout the regular season. In the playoffs, the championship title was won by Hamilton Croatia after defeating Toronto Croatia. The NSL Cup was secured by Toronto First Portuguese after defeating Toronto Hellas. Overview Before the commencement of the season, a dispute emerged between the National Soccer League (NSL) and the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) over a variety of issues during the OSA's annual meeting. At the meeting, the NSL's delegation requested that the league receive more representatives in future OSA meetings and a percentage of the gate earnings from friendly matches involving touring European teams. Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Toronto Ukrainians (Sports Association Toronto Ukrainians, uk, СТ (Спортове Товариство) «Україна» (Торонто), translit=ST (Sportove Tovarystvo) "Ukraina" (Toronto)) is a Canadian soccer team. Arthur Rodrigues
Arthur Rodrigues (May 4, 1928 – June 19, 2015) was a Portuguese football manager who primarily coached in the National Soccer League, and North American Soccer League. Career Rodrigues played football as a goalkeeper in Portugal for Benfica, and also was employed by Fonsecas Burnay Bank. In 1956, he played with Sportivo Montijo, and later moved to Canada where he originally was employed as a painter. In 1958, he played in the National Soccer League with Toronto White Eagles, and spent time in the Toronto and District League. Alan Harvey
Alan Harvey (born 11 April 1942) is a former professional soccer player. He played club soccer for Toronto Roma, Toronto Falcons, Rochester Lancers, and Toronto Croatia. Born in England, he represented Canada at international level. Club career Harvey played in the Midland League in 1961 with Gainsborough Trinity. In 1961, he played in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League with Toronto City for three seasons. Serbian White Eagles Football Club ( sr, Фудбалски клуб Српски бели орлови / ''Fudbalski klub Srpski beli orlovi'') is a Canadian soccer team. The team is a member of the Canadian Soccer League, an unsanctioned soccer league. The team's home kit is all white commemorating the white double-headed eagle which appears on the Serbian flag while the away colours are red-blue-white commemorating the tricolour of the Serbian flag. Jarry Park Stadium (french: Stade Parc Jarry ) is a tennis stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
