The 18th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1970 for the Outstanding Achievements for the year 1969. ''Pinagbuklod ng Langit'' by United Brothers Productions was a movie about the life and love story of then President Ferdinand Marcos and First Lady Imelda Marcos won the most awards with 8 wins including the FAMAS Award for Best Picture and Best Director for Eddie Garcia. The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as the FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of award-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Established in 1952, it is the oldest existing film industry award-giving body in the Philippines (as of 2013) and one of the oldest in Asia. Vic Vargas
Jose Maria Marfori Asuncion (March 28, 1939 – July 19, 2003), better known by his stage-name Vic Vargas, was a Filipino film actor and judoka. Early life and career Vic Vargas was born on March 28, 1939. When he was 17, Vargas won three championships for judo in the Philippines. He finished architecture at the University of Santo Tomas and then afterwards, became a physical education instructor teaching martial arts at the University of the East. Eventually, he reluctantly entered show business after being challenged by a friend, and then, he debuted in the film ''Diegong Tabak'' in 1962. Alice Bueñaflor Lake (November 23, 1924 – June 10, 2020), better known by her stage name Anita Linda, was a Filipino film actress. A romantic lead in her youth, she later gained critical acclaim for her portrayals in maternal or elderly roles. Roldan Aquino
Rolando Desembrana Aquino (May 2, 1942 – March 10, 2014) was a Filipino actor and director, best known for playing antagonist roles in films and television shows. He also became a Born-Again Evangelical Christian and he was ordained as a pastor of Jesus Lights the Way to the Father's Kingdom Church, Antipolo City, Officiated by Bishop Federico "Butch" Villanueva. Charito Solis
Rosario Violeta Solís Hernández, better known as Charito Solís (October 6, 1935 – January 9, 1998), was a FAMAS and Gawad Urian Award-winning Filipina film actress, in addition to being the first Philippine woman who have bared her chest in recorded film. Profile Rosario Violeta Solís Hernández was born in Manila. At age 19, she was introduced by her uncle, the film director F. H. Constantino to Doña Narcisa de León, the head of LVN Pictures, who cast her to star in her initial movie ''Niña Bonita'', an adaptation of Frank Capra's ''It Happened One Night''. The film was a success, and marked the beginning for Solís of a 43-year career in film that lasted until her death. Solís died on January 9, 1998, in Calamba City from cardiac arrest.
