The First Professional Football League ( bg, Първа професионална футболна лига, Parva Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as the Bulgarian First League or Parva Liga, currently known as the efbet League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league, located at the top of the Bulgarian football league system. Contested by 16 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria), Second Professional Football League. FC Dunav Ruse
FC Dunav ( bg, Дунав, officially named ''"Дунав от Русе"'') is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Ruse, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. Part of a larger sports branch, Dunav were established on February 16, 1949, as a merger of two local football clubs in the city, Dinamo and Rusenets. Nicknamed ''The Dragons'' ( bg, Драконите), Dunav's home colours are sky blue and white. Named after the Danube River, on the banks of which the city of Ruse is situated, the club plays its home matches at the local Gradski stadion, which has a seating capacity of 13,000 spectators. Stefan Atanasov Aladzhov ( bg, Стефан Атанасов Аладжов, born 18 October 1947) is a former Bulgarian football defender. In his career, he played mostly for Levski Sofia. In 1970 Aladzhov was named Bulgarian Footballer of the Year. For the Bulgaria national football team he played in two editions of the FIFA World Cup, in 1970 and in 1974. Dobromir Zhechev
Dobromir Georgiev Zhechev ( bg, Добромир Георгиев Жечев; born 12 November 1942) is a Bulgarian former football player and later manager. Zhechev was born in Sofia. At club level he played Spartak and Levski in his home town. He was also capped 93 times for the Bulgaria national team and was part of the squad at four World Cups, which makes him the only Bulgarian footballer who has played in four FIFA World Cups so far. European champion with the Bulgarian national under-19 team in 1959. Dobromir Zhechev is also 1973–76 Balkan Cup champion. As manager of Levski Sofia, he won one Bulgarian Cup in 1982. Kiril Ivkov
Kiril Lozanov Ivkov ( bg, Кирил Лoзaнoв Ивков; born 21 June 1946) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a defender, most notably for Levski Sofia. In 1974 and 1975 he was named Bulgarian Footballer of the Year. Ivkov made his Bulgaria debut in 1968, earning 44 caps and scoring one goal over an eleven-year international career. He was part of the squad for the 1968 Summer Olympics, where Bulgaria won the silver medal. Ivkov captained his country 10 times and played in the 1974 FIFA World Cup. Club career Born in Pernik, Ivkov began his career at local club Metalurg. In 1966, he left to join top league side Minyor Pernik. After one season at Minyor, Ivkov joined Levski Sofia where he won four Bulgarian League titles and four Bulgarian Cups. Biser Mihaylov
Biser Mihaylov ( bg, Бисер Михайлов; 30 June 1943 – 12 August 2020) was a Bulgarian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent all 14 seasons of his career at Levski Sofia, before retiring at the age of 32 in 1975. Biography Biser Mihaylov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. His son, Borislav, also a goalkeeper, once held the record for the most caps for the Bulgarian national team (now second behind Stiliyan Petrov). Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First League and above the Third League. Sixteen teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays. The league is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League. In 2016, the B Group's name was rebranded to Second Professional Football League. 1970–71 European Cup Winners' Cup
The 1970–71 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup football club tournament was won by Chelsea in a replay against Real Madrid. Defending champions Manchester City were eliminated by Chelsea in the semi-finals, only the second ever tie in the competition between two clubs from the same country. FC Maritsa Plovdiv
Maritsa ( bg, Марица) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Plovdiv, that plays in the Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football league system. It was established in 1921, after the merger of the teams Vampir and Trite Konski Sili. The club plays its home games at Maritsa Stadium, located in the city's northern district.
