Kirovsk, Luhansk Oblast
Kirovsk ( uk, Кіровськ, russian: Kировск), known in Ukraine as Holubivka ( uk, Голубі́вка), is a city in Luhansk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It is incorporated as a city of oblast significance. Population: , . History The settlement was founded in 1764 as a village named Golubovka by the Russian colonel and native of Serbia, Peter Golub. Its history follows closely the history of industrial development in the Eastern Ukraine. When coal mines were developed in the area, the village became known as Golubovskiy Rudnik. It reached its peak size in the 1980s. When the area was recaptured from Nazi Germany in 1944, the settlement was renamed Kirovsk after the murdered former mayor of Leningrad. In 1962 the settlement was granted city rights. The landscape around the town still has pyramid-shaped manmade hills. Kadiivka (), or Stakhanov (; ), is a city in the Luhansk Oblast (Oblast, region) of eastern Ukraine occupied by Russia. The city is incorporated as a city of regional significance (Ukraine), city of oblast significance. Its population is approximately . The city has been under the control of the self-declared Luhansk People's Republic since early 2014. Name Before 1937 the city was known as Kadiivka. From 1937 to 1940 the city was named Sergo or Serho ( uk, Серго) in honor of Sergo Ordzhonikidze, and then from 1940 to 1978 the city was again known as Kadiivka. __NOTOC__ Brianka ( uk, Брянка) is a city in Luhansk Oblast (oblast, region) of Ukraine. It is incorporated as a city of regional significance (Ukraine), city of oblast significance. Population: , . It is located between cities of Kadiivka and Alchevsk. History The settlement traces its history to small settlements of Zaporizhian Cossacks, zymivnyki, that appeared in place of future Brianka in 1696. The place has developed further into a miners' settlement around the local Brianka Quarry since the end of 19th century. FC Mayak Valky is an amateur football club from Valky, Ukraine. History The club was established in 1958 as ''Mayak'' (Lighthouse) and sponsored by the Shevchenko Kharkiv Instrument Factory. Mayak competed in the Soviet Second League and Soviet Second League B. After the fall of the Soviet Union the club was transferred on the balance of the local school of Olympic Reserve and therefore changed its name accordingly. The 1970 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was the 40th season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Ukrainian Class B. It was the twentieth and last season in the Soviet Class B and the eighth season of the Ukrainian Class B. The 1970 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was won by FC Khimik Severodonetsk. Reorganization In 1970–1971 the Soviet football league structure went through reformation. The Soviet Class A introduced an extra tier expanding from two to three in total. To the previous First and Second groups, there was introduced Higher (or Top) group. With this, many clubs that previously competed at the second tier (Second Group) were relegated to lower third tier (Second Group).
