Peter Dominick
Peter Hoyt Dominick (July 7, 1915 – March 18, 1981) was an American diplomat, politician and lawyer from Colorado. A member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party, he served in the United States Senate from 1963 to 1975. His uncle, Howard Alexander Smith, was a List of United States Senators from New Jersey, U.S. Senator from New Jersey from 1944 to 1959. Life and career Born in Stamford, Connecticut on July 7, 1915, Dominick graduated from St. Mark's School (Massachusetts), St. Mark's School in 1933, from Yale University in 1937 as a member of Scroll and Key, and Yale Law School in 1940. He practiced law in New York City with the law firm Carter, Ledyard and Milburn from 1940 until 1942. Dominick then joined the United States Army Air Corps as an Flight Cadet, aviation cadet at the outset of American fighting in World War II. Stephen McNichols
Stephen Lucid Robert McNichols (March 7, 1914 – November 25, 1997) was an American politician who served as Colorado's 35th Governor from 1957 to 1963. Family roots and early life McNichols' father, William H. McNichols, Denver's well-respected auditor for over thirty years, was influential in steering his two sons Bill and Stephen toward their success in state politics. Stephen McNichols graduated from East Denver High School and Regis College to pursue a law degree from Catholic University in Washington. After graduating in 1939, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a field officer in Baltimore and Boston. After a year of service, McNichols returned home to assist the Denver District Attorney, John A. Carroll. He later became an assistant in the U.S. Attorney General's antitrust division in Denver. Charles K. Monfort (born October 30, 1959) and Richard L. Monfort (born April 27, 1954) are the primary owners of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. Although Richard Nixon won the presidential election narrowly, the Republicans picked up five net seats in the Senate.
